Looks like Scale IMO, a pest problem common to house plants and difficult to eradicate. They are actually insects although they don't appear as such. Neem Oil spray helps but many recommend first cleaning the leaves with cotton balls dipped in a mix of rubbing alcohol and water 1 part alcohol to 5 parts waters. I have no idea how well this will work on tomato plants, no personal experience using it on them, since they are not normally grown indoors. Ooohh, I am excited to see someone else mention tropical brown granite. I installed it this summer on my glazed creamy white cabinets and I love it. Mine has a lot of black and grayish/greenish brown to offset the warm orangy brown. I specifically chose it because it is tight and uniform. I don't care for big swirly patterns. I would not want the big vein running through mine because I wanted the tight uniformity of the granite. It depends on what you want and like. I would definitely look at it in person. My slab was not the exact same color as the "swatch" they gave me to take home. I even took my cabinet door with me to compare it to the slabs to ensure I liked it. Who knows, you may see something else you like better.

Oh, golly. I wish I'd've known you were going to flush the soil. You can unpot the plant after flushing and set it in the tub/shower on a stack of newspapers/ paper bags/ old towels/ anything absorbant. This will pull/ wick the excess water out of the root mass. You can then used a wick (see fig 'E' below) and other tips you can find here (click on link) to reduce the amount of water the soil will retain after a thorough watering. If you repot now, your plant will probably suffer a much longer recovery time than it would if you wait until summer to start the work. You should learn to work with your plants' best interest in mind by synchronizing your work with the plants natural rhythms so the plant is better able to tolerate the indignities you'll heap on it in the name of providing it with the cultural conditions it needs to realize as much of it's genetic potential as possible. That's your main job, you know? - identifying and eliminating to the greatest degree possible, those things that are limiting your plant. Could be from oedema, a physiological condition where newly forming leaves have taken up more water than they can rid themselves of so some cells burst from the pressure, leaving a tiny scar. Search about that and see if the explanation and images fit what you have. You can’t fix the damage but its usually less visible as the leaves mature and darken, and you should be able to avoid it by being mindful of watering in the future - use free draining soil and let the mix dry down in between waterings etc. Do you know how to check for when it needs watering?
