How to size tv console- what looks best?
Comments (13)I have a 66" console for a 60" tv. I'd prefer something a little wider b/c the speakers are mounted on the wall too. But we already owned this console so its staying for now. Plus we needed the floor space for extra seating and have chairs flanking the tv ( a popular theme!) I love the look of long low consoles . I willed ably replace this one soon with something in the 72-80" range. If you want to display items, I'd go for the 80" but a lower height. Where are your speakers going to go? your width is fine. The height is a little on the high, making your viewing angle less than ideal....See MoreHelp! We got a new TV that is much bigger than the console
Comments (13)In my honest opinion.. I would still go for a new console despite not wanting to. But in the end it only matters what you want yourself. If you really don't want to get a new one I simply wouldn't care and not get a new one! Visually though as I said before.. a new one is absolutely needed....See MoreWhat color TV console should I chouse for my brick wall ?
Comments (8)we went white. yeah there is a black tv on top but the white really is fresh looking. and seems less of a dust magnet, no idea why that is... dust shows but you can clean it off, not just smear it around as always seems the way on black surfaces....See MoreHow many inches above a console should a tv be mounted?
Comments (17)@ salonva, the height is based on 18" to the top of the sofa/chair cushion plus 24" for the eye-height of a person sitting there, which is 42"; others say 40" is optimum eye-height. People are not all the same height so this is a general guideline. My own TV has only a 32" picture and sits on a TV cabinet. The center of the screen is 43" above the floor. The bottom of the frame sits about 34" above the floor. Ultimately, this is a personal decision. If you are happy with the height of your TV that is what counts. You just don't want the screen to be too low or too high which stresses your neck. Some installers are recommending even more height for really large TVs so they feel more theater like. Be careful, very few people like viewing a movie from the front row of the theater....See Morebtydrvn
