IMO art and you could go quite large do not feel like they whole space needs to filled you usually still hang art at human height ,unless it is really huge, you hang it so the center of the oiece is 63-65” above the floor. Please take the table cloth off the table , if the top is damaged get it fixed. As for the light IMO it is important especially with really high ceilings to get lighting that actually lights up the table not the ceiling.

I would try the table 90 degrees from where you have it. Since this room is so close to your entry, I would get the best chandelier I could afford so it makes a wow statement.

Your slightly Spanish feeling dining set needs a more traditional light. I agree with exposing the top of the table. Add a custom silk arrangement. You could hang a piece of art that is the size of one of the windows. Center it with the portion of wall between the upper and lower windows.

Have you considered making the table legs dark....the same as the chair legs? Agree with art, table top and all else others suggested. To me the legs are too light but if the whole table is that color, it will look much better without the cloth.

We found a new fixture that we like better and gives off better light.

Should I stain the top of the table too or leave just the legs stained dark?

1. Stain the top of the table
2. Get an art piece that is the same size as one of the windows and perhaps hang it at around the same height (do not feel the need to fill the entire wall.)
3. IMO I would change the rug and make it simpler.

I think one problem is that top fan shade on your awesome window, do you really need shade on that window? I could also see doing long drapes on either side to bring the drama. the light fixture in there is pretty, and also functional as it has added downlight to actually light the table.

Cover the table if you want to if that is better for your family. We often have ours covered when just use here so kids can use easily. But I do remove the cover when guests come

Love the new chandelier. The moulding looks a bit awkward given the height of ceiling. Wondering if you have ever considered a more modern moulding design and taking it higher, per the picture below. I think it would draw the eye downwards, creating a more intimate space and a stunning focal point

I love the idea of more modern molding. This room is the only room in the house that has this strange molding on the lower half that makes the space feel dated. I did end up staining the entire table and really love it so far. Once it’s dry I’ll add a poly to seal it.

A S the light is about 30ish inches from the top of the table. And the new bulbs put out significant light. Much better than the multi arm fixture that was in this space before. I loved the table light as well and it worked for us for 8 years in its unfinished raw wood look, but since we have so much beige and light fabrics in the house, i felt the table didn’t really have much presence in its raw state.

Art is a communicative medium. It evokes an emotion in you, gives you company, and at the same time enhances your decor and environment. If a beautiful painting does something for you, you should consider getting it.

Instead of small photos and shelves on such a big wall, I think a "feature" wall of graphic wallpaper or painting design would look fab. Not exactly this print, but something like this.
