Trying to find a harmless bath tub under $400
Comments (71)My grandma eats sweets including homemade pies with 1-2 c sugar per pie, loves sweets in general, eats too many fried foods for my taste, doesn’t eat paint chips, bathes in a porcelain tub, and was JUST moved to a nursing facility this year since she’s losing her mobility (mind is still intact) and in another month she will be celebrating her 100th birthday. You don’t have to live in a bubble to live a long life. Much of your life expectancy is predetermined in large part by genetics. Use common sense and don’t lick the bathtub....See MoreTub/shower combo or tub and shower stall
Comments (15)I know I probably went overboard, but I have been searching Houzz for shower/tub combos for myself if I decide to go in that direction. Most of these pictures have Master Bath titles - they tend to be small houses or apartments in large cities where space is an issue. They all have a generous sized tub. A few have extra shower bling and even a separate tub filler. All of them have material choices and the level of tile work that you see in a master bathroom. I'm sure that if I searched Houzz I could find just as many, or even more, remodels of small master baths where they have just built a walk in shower. I think the decision to do a shower/tub may be a personal choice because they want a soaking tub - since they are titled Master I'm assuming the bath is not the only bath in the house and they could easily just go with a shower. Comments (36)I'm in the thinking-about-it stage of redoing my guest bath. It has a shower over tub and I plan to keep it that way. Currently I have a framed bypass glass door that sits atop the tub. In my master bath I don't have a tub but the alcove is the same size. I have an unframed bypass door there. Although the open look of one piece of glass is very appealing, I do not understand how you contain the water, even with your showerhead facing down, and I'm not sure that I want to be constrained to stand in one spot. I don't take wild showers where water gets flung every which way. However, at the end of my shower I squeegee every time without fail. The back door (the one missing in belasea's bathroom) is just as wet and drippy as the one closer to the showerhead. I don't know if it's from splashing or condensation. But I do know if there wasn't a glass door there it would end up on the floor or walls....See MoreAnyone ever ordered from Vintage Tub and Bath?
Comments (51)Thank you all for your educational comments regarding this vendor. I was considering VTB for a solid surface shower base and will definitely NOT be ordering from them after reading the reviews. So many products arrive damaged these days that to think a seller would decline to provide replacements or offer to compensate someone who spent $$ with them is ridiculous. I was considering VTB as I had several vanities delivered by Lowes arrive with hairline cracks and damaged corners (oops dropped during shipping), and similar experiences with products from Wayfair, and Appliances Connection (stove looked like someone had run it over with a forklift), so I was broadening my search. You all have saved me some time and I appreciate it. I may just do custom since that, I can do myself, and get it right the first time. Oh well....See MoreTrish Walter
