Which tub filler for my huge tub and Moderne tile?
Comments (18)Hey breezy! You and me both! LOL I had a different rainhead when we remodeled Mbath at previous house. It was also large and I loved it! Though when I washed my hair, I sometimes used DH's. ( I have very thick hair) We are probably still a month away of being in. The latests setback was the stair color. I told the GC I wanted kind of pecan colored to match my floor. Some how I ended up with BURGANDY! So, they were stripped and sanded and now 2 1/2 weeks later since starting the staining, they are the correct color. Sometimes I just want to pull my hair out! Good luck on your faucet choices! Comments (49)This company doesn't appear to have a customer service department, I need a very simple replacement part, which I'm happy to pay for. I can't reach them by phone, email, or chat after trying for months. The closest I got was after an hour of waiting on the phone I was connected to some kind of customer service 3rd party contractor, who all they could do was send an email on my behalf. They said "hopefully that works, if you don't hear from them in two weeks call back". That was 2 months ago. Very frustrating....See MoreUpset - bath tub issue
Comments (10)Since it's on you, I'd go after Kohler again. Simply start anew. Get a written diagnosis from the second evaluator. Send it to Kohler and start a warranty claim. Pretend it's the first time you've called them. 1) Tub was purchased from _____ on ____. 2) Tub was installed on ____ by a licensed plumber in accordance with the manufacturers instructions. 3) Within days of the installation a squeaking noise was heard. 4) You had two people come out and diagnose it as a delamination. Include the written report from the second person. 5) State what you want: A new tub. I'd also contact the point-of-purchase. They sold you a bad tub. As a follow up to the initial phone call claim with them, include the written delamination assessment made by the second evaluator. Send them the same info noted above. Written letters and emails start the paper trail. Phone calls are great to "shake the tree", any time you talk to anyone note the day, time, person you spoke with, case/claim number if they assign you one, and take brief notes of the conversation. Kohler is usually pretty good about claims. Best thing I can offer is to be calm but firm in your conversations, be businesslike. And keep good notes. When I've dealt with things like this, I've kept my notes in a document file on my computer. If I talk to someone new, I'll email them the file while I'm on the phone with them. Depending on the situation I might password protect it or convert it into a pdf file before sending it so it can't be muddled with by the recipient. No, I've never done or had done a gel injection. I've never heard of it being done. Not saying it won't work. But I've never had a tub delaminate! As a bit of a last resort, talk to your GC. If Kohler is claiming the tub was installed incorrectly, that falls back on him and on his plumber. You might be able to get separate letters from the plumber and the GC saying that the tub was installed IAW the manufacturers instructions and that they agree with the evaluation that delamination as a result of a manufacturing defect are the cause of the squeak. Again, all that is based on the tub having been installed correctly. ie, it's not a drop-in tub that is being supported by the rim instead of by the base/feet for example. Again, good luck....See MoreBain Ultra air tub or MTI Stream Bath?
Comments (18)Hi, Just wanted to say we installed a drop in Bain Ultra in our master bath after much trepidation about having another jet tub after a jacuzzi, etc. etc. Well, we couldn't be happier with the air jets and all the settings. I believe our model is the 'Amma' 72". I use it almost every day. I even do my stretching exercises while the jets are on. If you have sore muscles or arthritis I think you will find the bubbling most effective to ease the pain and loosen joints. We had our motor installed in a closet about 8 feet from the tub and it works fine. I also want to say be sure to shop around. I found a price difference of a couple thousand from dealer to dealer. Another thing--if you are doing a marble or tile surround you may want to consider the version that has a quartz (I think) surround already built in. I think I would try to use that model next time to save some time and money. We have recommended Bain Ultra to several of our friends....See Morekudzu9
