The DR set is beautiful and I love your blue ceramics. I would put up art rather than a mirror (because I personally like artwork more than mirrors; YMMV), but art is also very personal to me. I could suggest things I like, but you need to find things you like.

Red poppies would not be weird at all. Artwork does not have to match. Do you have a painting in mind? If you can provide a photo or link, along with a full-height photo of the wall from straight on, someone here can photoshop it for you.

Actually, I think I may put up a picture that my mom painted for me years ago. I just need to put it in a different frame.......maybe one that matches the hardware on the sideboard! 😊 Good to know about the photoshopping......thank u for sharing that!

Yes to the Red poppies. The warmth of the red will pop against the blue and white plus relate to the undertone of the cherrywood. And more importantly it has a personal provenance as a family heirloom. I decorate with my father's paintings not because they won awards but because of the personal history they tell.

your table and buffet are very pretty and the cherry wood brings a richness to the room.. I think you should keep the top of the buffet very simple because the dishes in the cabinet doors have glass and you can see the beautiful dishes and so I would keep the top simple so it doeant compete with the dishes. I would get a stunning piece of art for the wall, something u pique that you love and either leave the top of the buffet empty or just have two lamps on either end. I would also make sure you have a statement chandelier. simple but beautiful.

thank you and I think keeping it simple because you have a smaller size room. the art should be just a bit more narrow than the buffet but to me it could quite tall, to make a statement. it looks like the room is off the entry, so a statement piece of art will help draw the eye into the room.

then, simple is even better...LOL. you have done a great job so far and just need really that large piece of art... it sounded like you have an art piece from your grandmother that you are considering? you want to make sure its large enough for that prime spot. I might also consider lowering your chandelier a bit and if you are open to it, I think it could be a bit bigger.

I'm actually looking to change all the lighting.....including the 2 sideboard lamps. I just dont think they look right. thanks again for all the suggestions.......it definitely helps to get other opinions! 😁

they are very pretty. let's see. what about removing the plate that is flat as it doesnt show up and the putting the plate on the stand and the two vases in a grouping in the center of the buffet. need to create a grouping to bring mass and presence to the pieces because individually they are small, but together they are bigger and make a presence...
