Had any fun dental experiences lately?
Comments (18)This last January amidst several months of other health issues, I had a molar crown fall off. I experienced no pain from the tooth despite the fact that the tooth was exposed for over a week from the missing crown. Having just started a new job, I had to find a new dentist that was accepted by my dental policy. I went in and told the dentist that I just needed my old crown re-cemented on. The dentist said that would be a liability to him if the cement didn't hold and I choked on it so I agreed to a root canal and new crown. Ever since the root canal, the tooth has ached. I went back a month later and told the doctor that it hurts to eat, touch my face or brush my teeth. He said the tooth must have cracked and that I need an implant which involves four months without a tooth on that side of my mouth. And of course additional cost done by another dental specialist that I will have to absorb. I said no. I'm furious. Because I've been seeing a half a dozen doctors for my other health issues and having a number of test that require me to take time off from my new job, I have not been willing to take even more time off to go back to the dentist. He told me he would talk to the dentist who did the root canal and get back to me. Which he never did. I have an appointment with the dentist office for a cleaning next week and will have to deal with whatever the next step might be then. Jodi-...See MoreHad a senior moment, today1
Comments (18)Morning blond senior moment! Made the pot of coffee no problem. Got out loaf of bread & put slice in toaster, got butter and milk out, got sugar bowl and cereal out, got napkin, butter knife, bread plate, cup, spoon, bowl and little pitcher YEA did all that without thinking. Great start don't you think? I poured milk into little pitcher, poured coffee into cup, managed to get cereal into bowl. So far not bad I spooned a bit of sugar into the coffee added a splash of milk took a sip mmmmmmm okay the day is going good so far and I've been up ten minutes. WOOHOOOOO Turned to get the toast. Opps never pushed the lever down no toast yet. Well no big deal it only takes a minute. A few more sips of coffee, pushed the lever down and sipped a bit more coffee. I put milk away (in the pantry) put bread away (in the fridge) and put away the cereal (in the bread box). I realized what I was doing and fixed it. Milk in fridge, bread in bread box and cereal in pantry okay got it!. Now for the toast. CARP! forgot to plug in toaster, still no toast! Plug in toaster, sip more coffee and get a pat of butter off stick then put the butter dish in fridge. MMMM sip more coffee now I'm ready for another cup. Pour second cup of coffee add bit of sugar and milk just as toaster pops up the toast. Snatch toast out and put it on plate, smear the butter on it and unplug toaster. Put plate on tray with rest of breakfast pick up tray and head for the patio to enjoy breakfast and newspaper alfresco. Sat down and put tray on table, sipped a bit of coffee. Opened paper and set it up to just pick up and read as I eat. Took sip of coffee mmmmm then promptly poured the coffee of my cereal. Looked at the tray with the toast and bowl of cereal and little pitcher of milk and just could not figure out what was wrong with the scene! I reached for my coffee cup found it empty and was surprised I had gone through my allotted 2 cups already. Why did I still have milk left in my pitcher??? I picked up my paper and started reading. Picked up my spoon and dug right into the cereal. Strawberry Special K with coffee. Not the best tasting combo so I tossed it out on the compost pile. I got the last of the coffee ate my toast and drank my little pitcher of milk as I read my paper. Gee I had been up for 1/2 hr and felt like the day should be over already. In the 4 hrs since I've managed to break my last pair of sun glasses, drop my toothbrush in the toilet, lock my keys in the truck and turn all my undies pink in the washer. Where the heck did that red shirt come from? I don't even where red! It's just after noon and I have to go shopping. Okay rude Walmart employees FEAR THIS! LIL...See MoreHave you tried any new ingredients lately - during the pandemic?
Comments (21)I haven't been to the Japanese markets since the pandemic started because there are always long lines to get in. The stores tend to be crowded and have narrow aisles, which is not ideal, but next month I should be okay about going, since my vaccinations will be complete and in effect. I do have kewpie mayonnaise, but only use it when I make okonomiyaki. I think I need some more okonomiyaki sauce. I could make it myself, but one of the ingredients is ketchup (I think), and I never stock ketchup. I suppose I could use tomato paste instead. I never buy mustard anymore, now that I have found a recipe for it that I like, and I have a good supply of mustard seeds and powder....See MoreIdiot things you have done that can't be called "senior moments"?
Comments (61)Had a minor hissy fit over a missing tug (connecting strap) on a breast collar. Had someone get me one off another one muttering under my breath how people should be more observant of keeping track of the tack. Then when I went to put on the bridle there was the tug, had somehow got caught up on it. So much for being observant. Better practice what I preach. We got a new solar powered light for our flag. DH said we had to send it back because it wasn't working. I laid it down upside down on a table to take a look and it lit up since the light was blocked. He'd tested it merely holding it upside down to block the light not thinking how light can come still get in from below. He's actually the mechanically gifted one. At least he is usually. I learned well from him. After one especially long, fatiguing day of frustration I had finished my last errand. I lost a half hour in a dark parking lot one night searching for my keys to the truck by phone flashlight after loading groceries. I emptied every bag, looked between and under the seats, checked the area around me, even looked under the truck. In frustration I decided to sit for a bit. There were my keys. I'd put them in the ignition so I wouldn't misplace them....See MoreSister Sunnie
