Not today, but put stuff in frying pan, and about 20 minutes later wonder why it was not cooking as I put part of supper on the table. Guess I should have turned on the stove.

LOL! I haven't had one today, but almost did. I stored the rest of the meringue for the Pavlova in the oven since it's humid here. I almost turned the oven on to heat up dinner. Boy, would I have been P.O.'d. Mainly, because I made meringue cookies once and had them cooling in the oven and turned it on to put in the baked beans. Burnt the heck out of them!!

Oh good, I'm not the only one. Haven't had one in a few days, but this day is not over yet!

Put Gortons fish fillets in the toaster oven for fish tacos, set the timer and went on to do something else. Came in 15 minutes later and oooops, never turned on the TO. Just kept it to myself tho.......;-)

I once did the same thing as Patti43 only it was my sons frosted birthday cake in the oven! Put it there to make sure Sparky didn't mess with it, and I forgot about it. I turned on the oven and a few minutes later smelled chocolate. Didn't seem to hurt it.

whew...that's why when i was doing other "hot" chores (ran dw, washer/dryer) in the middle of the night, i didn't put on my pork chops..i was afraid i'd fall asleep and they'd burn...

I've got everyone beat. I turned on the oven Saturday night to heat up my dinner (leftover chicken). Sunday afternoon it was awfully hot in the kitchen. I had left the oven on all night!

I'm sure I had one......

but I can't remember the details!!! LOL

Story of my life..

Glenda - These are so easy and pretty close to what we used to get in So. Calif.
Ingredients
Sauce
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
1 (1.25 ounce) package ORTEGA® Taco Seasoning Mix, divided
---------------------------
1 pound cod or other white fish fillets, cut into 1-inch pieces
2 tablespoons vegetable oil (Opt.)
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 package (12) ORTEGA® Taco Shells, warmed (I use whole wheat tortillas or the flour tortillas)
Toppings: shredded cabbage, lime juice (optional: chopped tomato, ORTEGA® Thick & Smooth Taco Sauce

Directions

COMBINE sour cream, mayonnaise, cilantro and 2 tablespoons seasoning mix in small bowl.
COMBINE cod, vegetable oil, lemon juice and remaining seasoning mix in medium bowl; pour into large skillet. Cook, stirring constantly, over medium-high heat for 4 to 5 minutes or until fish flakes easily when tested with fork.
FILL warmed tortillas or taco shells with fish mixture. Top with cabbage, sour cream mixture, lime juice and (Opt. taco sauce, tomatoes).

I finally bought a celantro plant and will always have one going now. You can also get Old El Paso Taco Seasoning in a 6.24 oz. container, rather than the packets. So, I use 1-1/2 to 2 Tblsps. in the sauce (to taste).

As I said above, I use the Gortons fillets and cook them in the toaster oven (or microwave). You can also used other fish that you like, even leftovers. Heat the tortillas individually on a stove burner. Enjoy!!

wannaretire_did, those tacos sound so good, especially the sauce. In fact, I bet that sauce would be a good replacement for tartar sauce for any fish dish.

Back on-topic, I haven't had a senior moment yet, but the day's still young!

Morning blond senior moment! Made the pot of coffee no problem. Got out loaf of bread & put slice in toaster, got butter and milk out, got sugar bowl and cereal out, got napkin, butter knife, bread plate, cup, spoon, bowl and little pitcher YEA did all that without thinking. Great start don't you think? I poured milk into little pitcher, poured coffee into cup, managed to get cereal into bowl. So far not bad I spooned a bit of sugar into the coffee added a splash of milk took a sip mmmmmmm okay the day is going good so far and I've been up ten minutes. WOOHOOOOO Turned to get the toast. Opps never pushed the lever down no toast yet. Well no big deal it only takes a minute. A few more sips of coffee, pushed the lever down and sipped a bit more coffee. I put milk away (in the pantry) put bread away (in the fridge) and put away the cereal (in the bread box). I realized what I was doing and fixed it. Milk in fridge, bread in bread box and cereal in pantry okay got it!. Now for the toast. CARP! forgot to plug in toaster, still no toast! Plug in toaster, sip more coffee and get a pat of butter off stick then put the butter dish in fridge. MMMM sip more coffee now I'm ready for another cup. Pour second cup of coffee add bit of sugar and milk just as toaster pops up the toast. Snatch toast out and put it on plate, smear the butter on it and unplug toaster. Put plate on tray with rest of breakfast pick up tray and head for the patio to enjoy breakfast and newspaper alfresco. Sat down and put tray on table, sipped a bit of coffee. Opened paper and set it up to just pick up and read as I eat. Took sip of coffee mmmmm then promptly poured the coffee of my cereal. Looked at the tray with the toast and bowl of cereal and little pitcher of milk and just could not figure out what was wrong with the scene! I reached for my coffee cup found it empty and was surprised I had gone through my allotted 2 cups already. Why did I still have milk left in my pitcher???
I picked up my paper and started reading. Picked up my spoon and dug right into the cereal. Strawberry Special K with coffee. Not the best tasting combo so I tossed it out on the compost pile. I got the last of the coffee ate my toast and drank my little pitcher of milk as I read my paper. Gee I had been up for 1/2 hr and felt like the day should be over already. In the 4 hrs since I've managed to break my last pair of sun glasses, drop my toothbrush in the toilet, lock my keys in the truck and turn all my undies pink in the washer. Where the heck did that red shirt come from? I don't even where red! It's just after noon and I have to go shopping. Okay rude Walmart employees FEAR THIS!

My worst experience came with some hot dogs I was making for dinner. DH requested his bun toasted. So I stuck two HD rolls in the toaster, put down the lever and cooked the hot dogs. Minutes later black smoke from the toaster, the buns were stuck and ruined. Tried again two more times, same thing. Six buns ruined, the last two fortunately came out okay. And the backyard birds enjoyed the burned buns.It's a Good Thing buns come 8 in a package!

This happened when I was teaching.

Had two pair of shoes, only difference were the colors.

OOPS, they got mixed up in the closet and I ended up at school with mismatched shoe colors :o)
