Where can I get a second hand kitchen with appliances?

Hi me and my husband have brought a house, that is undergoing renovation. We need a kitchen, we keep going on eBay and find wonderful gems however we either win the bid and the seller takes it off because it didn’t meet their reserve or something? (this has happened once), or someone swans in last minute with a massive offer. I’m desperate to get this wonderful kitchen with appliances on a budget less than £1200, any advice? Where else we can look? Can we get integrated appliances separately somewhere?

Are there any demolition sales going on in your wider area? My neighbor's got a complete kitchen, only a few years old, with appliances for a couple of thou. It was, at the time, probably a $50k kitchen. They were going to take down a wall anyway so they were able to put the kitchen in with a few adjustments, and only had to get backsplash material.

Every so often, kitchen showrooms change their displays and sell off the old one. You can sometimes get a deal. Do you have Craig's list or Kijiji? Ours is full of people selling old kitchens. You do have to be patient as most are not great, but I was looking for cabs for our cottage and saw several beautiful kitchens being sold just because someone didn't like the style the home's previous owner had chosen.

For fridge my first choice would be Samsung and KA second. The highest FD Samsung is 69 7/8". JD Powers has Samsung #1 for FD five years now,more features than KA,and IMO better interior.KA is solid with good reputation among appliance repair men.LG has reputation for being quiet. Marvel BC are excellent,made in the USA,but are a bit noisy. Liebherr RU-500 is ~$1500 very quiet and energy efficient.Perlick is the best and very quiet but ~$3K. Perlick sells their scratch'n dent factory direct at up to 60% off on their website. Made in USA. Liebherr made in Germany or Austria. It is about $5500 for Bluestar RNB range not the RCS. RCS has 15k btu power burners while RNB has 22k.RGTNB364GV1 is the rangetop and should be around $3k but there is also a cheaper cooktop without full motion grates and drip tray that is cheaper. Both have 22k btu burners. The cooktop is BlueStar RBCT365BSS about $2.1K. I would only consider the RNB range,BS rangetop and cooktop. A lot of us have purchased refurbished Sharp MW drawers on ebay for $499 without problems. Bosch dishwaser,Electrolux wall oven,and GE advantium are good choices. Maybe Kas can weigh in on ventilation but I don't see how closed cell insulation affects which hood you get. It may affect your decsion to purchase a make up air system(MUA).

breezy... "steal" is a pretty harsh word. ;) okay, i suppose i could... but don't really want to start that up, if that's okay. :( i meant range + small oven because really the only time we ever use the big oven is Thanksgiving and Christmas. We use a large toaster oven mostly all the time, and the results are alright. but it's pretty ugly! i want the counter-level so we don't have to bend, so it's ergonomics too. i guess i think if we redo this kitchen only to go back to using the toaster oven, it's kind of a waste! btw, we are not updating the fridge or dishwasher yet. thing is, it's not really a matter of saving for it either. there's a price point (somewhere) which seems ridiculous because i am a mediocre cook! i mean a La Canche would just be silly for me, even though they are beautiful. know what i mean? today we went to the Sears outlet to look at a Bosch wall oven. it was a really good deal on a floor model. but i couldn't bring myself to do it. i've only had builder grade my whole life. my friends and family always tease me about this remodel because i am such a bad cook! (i must have self-esteem issues.) but the kitchen is so gross, i can't stand it anymore. we've been here 3 years now. this sounded like therapy.... anyway, if anyone got this far, thanks for listening. :)

I never get to show anything on this thread because I don't have a grand kitchen in progress. But I *do* have a one-of-a-kind commissioned imitation Smallbone plate rack. Even the hardware is hand made and one of a kind. The first picture shows the former owner of Smallbone (I believe he sold sometime in the past few years but correct me if I'm wrong.) He's sitting in his own kitchen. It was called simply the unfitted kitchen in the late 80s - early 90s. In those days this kitchen was very different from the barley twist English oak and (gorgeous!) pine and painted kitchens featured in the rest of the catalog. The middle spread of the catalog I copied the plate rack from feature a Connecticut farmhouse kitchen painted green and blue. Smallbone would send the crew over from England to paint. The second picture is my plate rack. It's in its 4th house now. Yes, we are working on the kitchen. I do not intend to live like this forever. But the plate rack will always be the best thing in the room.

I have the same Bosch as sjhockeyfan and love it for all the same reasons. I am still learning what "4" and "6" will do, exactly (for example), but I love that 4 today is the same as 4 yesterday, so when I start using it every day (don't live there yet) it will be even more wonderful. And I haven't even figured out the timers yet, need to get that manual out one of these days. Love cleaning it up, though. I have gas at home now and there's a lot of cussing whenever something goes down between those grates...

We sold our kitchen cabinets, appliances, and sink on Facebook Marketplace. I had no real hope of it selling, but within 15 minutes I had more offers than I knew what to do with. We sold it to the first person to contact us, but we had many back up offers for higher amounts.

I’d check FB Marketplace first but be really careful about it every step of the way.

Here in the US, I have found wonderful things at ReStore, run by Habitat for Humanity. People donate all kinds of things, kitchens, furniture, appliances, boxes of tile, curtain rods, sinks, etc and Habitat uses the money to build homes for low income families. You could also talk to the real estate agent who sold you the house as she might be aware of homes being remodeled and you could help demo for the kitchen. When we remodeled, our son took our old cabinets for his house. Some communities have bulletin boards. In farm country, the local feed and farm stores have bulletin board and you can post there. Contact demolition companies and give them a flyer with your needs and phone number. One of my employees was at a very expensive home when the owners said they were throwing away their kitchen. He got the whole kitchen, without appliances, free for the hauling. Don’t start tearing apart your kitchen until you locate the “new”.
