Exterior PVC Pipes?
Comments (7)Those are your furnace's exhaust pipe (pointing out) and intake pipe (pointing down). They have to conform to one of the allowed configurations in the furnace's installation instructions. Turning the intake pipe upward is probably a big no-no. That could cause the furnace to breathe in its own exhaust, which is bad for the heat exchanger....See MoreExterior PVC Pipes?
Comments (0)Hi folks - I'm in the middle of building a trellis system on the side of my house. The next step is to incorporate 4' tall cedar planters at the base of each of the two columns. The top of the planters will reach approximately to the top of the AC unit. The challenge I'm facing are these odd-shaped, u usual PVC pipes, to the right of the AC unit. This is a fairly new constructed home (4 years old), and yet I never knew what purpose these PVC pipes served. Franky I never cared before, but now that I'm building this cedar structure, I really wish I could somehow move the PVC pipe on the far right (the onepointing down). I don't like how close that pipe is to the column, especially once I add the cedar planters to the columns. I'm wondering if I could possibly turn that far right PVC pipe so it points up, just as the far left PVC pipe is. That would lend me a few extra inches and ultimately make things look less congested. I would greatly appreciate any advice/recommendations you could kindly offer. Thank you!...See MoreExterior PVC Pipes?
Comments (2)I recommend moving the cedar structure away from the home. The pipes are for your heater. Build a fenced area around your condenser and pipes. In Ca ifornia, there are building codes preventing what you are doing....See MoreWhat do I need to replumb the PVC pipes for this kitchen sink?
Comments (12)Hi, just now working on this. New counter was installed and I put the sink and drain in (yay me!). Now I am trying to connect the drain pipes. The new drain holes are closer to the wall and the wall piece below is too long to accommodate the p trap. I push the j pipe all the way in to the bend, and I need to push it in another inch, but it won’t go because the wall pipe reached the bend in the j. Do I need to do something to the wall pipe configuration? If so, please give me some words to google because I haven’t mastered the vocabulary. Or can I do something with the pipes under the drain to remove that inch? The pipe coming out of the drain is almost directly in line with the wall pipe. I think the pipe in the pic above is too long. I’ll show the attempted assembly in another photo so you can see the problem. EDIT: Here is my attempt to assemble. The t pipe(?) that connects to the drain pipe needs to scooch back about an inch. I can cut it to length....See Morenhb22
