Sanding deck prior to using restore-a-deck
Comments (12)The only reason I was going to Restore it was that there are water marks and some strange yellowish residue on some of the wood. I have no idea what the yellowish residue is. Maybe once the deck is built I will try to wipe it off really good adn the water marks will come off when I sand. My wife and I have quite a bit of time and money invested in this deck and I am up for doing whatever it takes to help preserve it. The restore-a-deck will not harm new ipe wood, will it? If not and I did go ahead and use it would you recommend using it before or after sanding? Thanks again John, Ray...See MoreDeck Restore Rust-Oleum Deck Restore
Comments (6)9 years isn't old for a deck so I'd first be sure a good washing/sanding and stain wouldn't give you a new looking deck before I'd coat it with Restore. By gaps, do you mean cracks or just gaps between the boards? We used Restore on a newly built ramp and small deck that's next to a barn. The ramp is for access to a debris box so all the stuff mucked from horse stalls can be dumped into it. It's walked on, and wheelbarrows are rolled across it daily, so it's had it's share of wear and tear. We've been impressed with the durability, look and feel so I would give it a thumbs up. Watch some of the youtube videos and check the samples at the store, and as long as you understand it's a thick coating and not a paint or stain, then I think you'll be happy with the results if you choose to use it. Don't skip any steps in prep and application. Be sure to compare costs of each project: cleaning & Restore vs cleaning and stain/seal. It takes a good bit of Restore for coverage and it is not cheap....See MoreRestore-A-Deck Questions for Pressurepros
Comments (1)Watch covering plants with plastic. On a hot day you will burn those plants very quickly. Wet the ballusters first quickly, watch your application and make them the first thing you rinse. You won't destroy the effects of the RAD cleaner just by casucally wetting down the rails. I would try to go no more than 2 weeks time when exposed to sunlight....See MoreNeed help figuring out how to restore a new/old redwood deck

From this far away I am thinking md80,as I said before,is what your gunna have to use. Follow the instrustions on the site and the container this stuff as a little rugged, not all that great on plants, and not real good on You done incorectley. J....See MoreRelated Professionals
