Stressless sofas - worth the price?
Comments (98)Just got my ~15k stressless emily delivered after a few weeks and i prefer my ugly rooms to go sabella. im a 5’6 man and the emily is just plain uncomfortable. The padding isn’t supportive. The back is completely flat so your spine has little support. Its like sitting against a padded wall. The actual seat itself is just 17 inches but it feels less because the first few inches are pure padding so the back of your knee doesn’t feel supported. Honestly it feels a bit like sitting on a stool because it’s so low to the ground and the seat is so narrow. If your legs are up and your sitting ok your side your knees will be dipping off the front. Just an uncomfortable couch overall. seeing and sitting on it a few times is not enough and I hope the store I bought it come can even give me half of my money back....See MoreOpinions needed on leather furniture colors
Comments (14)Thanks for all the replies! Linda brk--thanks for your pictures--your room looks great! After taking a hard look at my living room last night, I also agree that we have more than enough green in the room already and that a green sofa would not work. Robin dc I'd love to see your pictures as caramel, camel and tan are probably the best choices. My problem is that my accent colors are green and a dark orangy red and I think blue and red are better accent colors for chocolate brown, like in Linda brk's picture. Yes, I am thinking of getting more Ekornes. I think I have finally learned my lesson--the color and style of my two Ekornes chairs was dictated by a 400 lb gorilla couch at our old house and if I get more chocolate brown I will just keep going in a direction I did not like in the first place. My problem is that I don't think that chocolate brown goes very well with sagey greens, but I really can't change the green and the stressless chairs are too nice to not use and then I don't have enough decorating sense to imagine how it could all be pulled together! Thanks again for all of the help!...See MoreWhich of these furniture combos for a modern guest room/office?
Comments (11)If the room will be used as a guest room frequently and a full bed is needed, consider a murphy bed. If only a twin bed is needed, consider a day bed that could be used as seating by day and bed by night. If the room is going to be used as an office regularly and guest room occasionally, consider furnishing it primarily as an office -- but sparsely furnishing it, leaving room to move some furnishings to the side and add an inflatable mattress in the size you expect to need when the room is to be used as a guest bedroom. What furnishings you use for the office depends upon individual need and taste. One thing I'd specifically recommend: A two drawer filing cabinet with third shallow top draw for pens, etc., could double as an end table. To maximum the storage, think vertical ... get as much storage as possible taking up as little floor space to do so as possible. Choosing furnishings with castors -- or adding them -- can make changing the use of the room much more convenient and, for that reason, I'd recommend against the bed you've chosen. You should be able to get a really good quality metal bed frame with castors that can adjust to be either twin or full for about $64 last time I priced them (a couple of years ago). A headboard is going to make your office feel much more like a bedroom. If you're going to choose a frame w/headboard, consider choosing one with storage built in beneath it. There are less expensive versions of this Lowell Captain's Bed: https://www.google.com/search?q=images+full+bed+w/storage+built+in+beneath+it&source=univ&tbm=shop&tbo=u&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjng8W7iffXAhXHQyYKHS3eAaMQsxgIKA&biw=837&bih=514#spd=14987280754496422807&spf=1512621305210...See MorePlease help add some color/personality to my home office
