Help with Living Room Furniture Options
Hello All,
I recently purchased newly Build Home. right now searching for new modern Furniture with setting layout and color combination which should i choose.
Following is existing Living room Situation:
1. Wall Color is light Grey
2. Dark color hardwood
3. Size 17x17 ft
4, Standard fire place
5. 4 big windows with beautiful outside look
6. Ceiling has height
attached pic or room.
Right now confused from below options for modern style layout according to my living room:
1. sofa and loveseat with matching chair
2. Sofa and Loveset with 1/2 accent chair
3. 2 sofa with 2 accent chair
4. 1 sofa with 2 accent chair
following sofa set is in my mind to think to buy:
we like this but back support is less while seating and its Traditional not a MODERN as i think.
3. any of above sofa with any one below 2 accent chair
4. Other than above all, any expert advises OR Options are welcome.
kindly request you all please help me to find out best solution for my living room. i am also fine if you have any best option other than this. all ideas are welcome because right now i dont have any furniture in my living room its totally new to buy.

3 years agolast modified: 3 years agoNo loveseats ever they are just a really uncomfortable wide chair. A sofa and 2 chairs are great and IMO if you want modern a few less buttons . look at MCM pieces they will have a nice clean modern look and will work well in your space . I will say you need solar shades on those windows before the sun starts The first pic is my LR the pictures seem to go fading those floors. Inside mount solar shades will give you heat and UV protection and daytime privacy for nighttime privacy you will need drapes BTW the solar shades in 10% will also allow you yo keep the view during the day. The drapes will add some softness and also some help with sound control. Are you planning a TV for this space. Please get rid of the boob light in the LR replace with a great chandelier maybe . This sia nice look with white leather and the drspes provide that softness this is 2 sofas facing eachother which is very doable in your space I happen to love white leather on dark floor s aI have white leather and I love it . The first pic is my LR the 2nd the one I was mentioning for your space .

1 sofa, 2 lounge chairs & 1 accent chair
I'm not even sure if this accommodates the two lounge chairs if you have to walk around the kitchen bar.

Comments (2)I think that I would hesitate to block both heat vents and access to open and close the windows or blinds. That is one fabulous window. What a feature! What about a sofa with a small left chaise placed where the media console is now? It would be like a sectional, but would not come down past the heat vent or block the window as much. Comments (20)I'm not sure what you intend to use this room for but if it's for adult conversation while kids are in the FR then there are a couple of things I would do. Two loveseats facing each other, round coffee table and 2 swivel chairs facing the fireplace (backs to the room entrance). I can picture a tall grandfather clock angled in the corner where the chair is now. Or One loveseat facing the FP, rectangle coffee table and a swivel chair on each side of the loveseat. Then I'd place a round game table with 4 chairs in the corner where the chair is now. This is a good way to get extra seating without taking up a whole lot of room and the table is great for coffee/dessert or playing cards or games while you watch the fire. In either case, turn the rug. Your bookcases are beautiful and I'd play them up to full advantage by adding some books (artfully arranged, of course)and some greenery in colorful containers. I'd place the photo frames throughout the shelves, some sitting on side layered books for height variance so that they become unexpected and delightful interruptions from the reading material....See Morehelp choosing living room furniture for a small room?

Comments (14)Keep in mind that you are thinking of starting a family in the next year. You may want to consider holding off on a coffee table and having several end tables so you can place a play mat down in the center of the room and have a place to set bottles etc. and baby monitor next to you. Leave space for a baby swing and a play pen to be later exchanged for cube storage for toys. I may consider placing the TV on the wall flanking the chaise portion of your sofa with something under it that can be later used for toy storage. A TV over the fireplace is pretty high for toddlers to watch. Just thinking of the baby shark video and my niece interacting with it - dancing, running and hiding, celebrating when she is safe . . . and all the other learning programs that she loves watching and interacting with while watching. Maybe visit a few friends with babies and toddlers and find out what works for them before making any final decisions. I like the idea of a sofa and two chairs because it is more flexible....See More

I don't know what kind of lights you like, so I photoshopped something in the gray, transitional style
these are done w/woven wood shades, but you could do other types too, and edge them w/the drapes
If you want a cleaner, more modern blind, go w/these
furniture options:Similar room style as yours. another Houzz poster just completed this one. they did a great job.

3 years agoThis was our inspiration pic for our living room. For us we have the TV over fireplace and wanted comfortable family seating plus access to look out windows. And the second pic is our actual living room, a work in progress :)

3 years agoHere is my concept. I am making an assumption that there is a walkway on left so you loose 3’ from seating space. I numbered items in order of importance so you can purchase as budget allows. Sofa, 2 chairs facing sofa and coffee table. You can add other chairs as needed. I think a 9 x 12’ rug will anchor the room. A narrow, long coffee table serves main seating area. A large plant in corner to right of fireplace would soften space. Do plain fabrics and leathers and use rug and pillows and art over fireplace to add colors desired. I would find a way to add an arc lamp probably next to chairs over toward coffee table. You will have plenty of light during the day but at night will need ambient lighting. Can lights are not good best lighting on skin. So see if this reflects your desires. I am going to pull some other ideas together to realize this concept. In this sketch, each square equals one square foot. Bbl

3 years agoYes, if you put a TV in this space the only place it will fit is over your fireplace and it should be wider that mantel. Here are ideas with mainly neutrals. You can select accent color of your choice.
