Stainless steel backsplash with 4' granite backsplash? Need advi
Comments (1)It will look fine. If it bothers you then run the backsplash behind the range and have the stainless bent so that it follows the contours of the granite. I would be tempted to start the stainless above the granite, but either way is going to look fine....See More3' granite backsplash needed if plan to tile backsplash kitchen?
Comments (5)With a granite backsplash, you'll still have a seam so it defeats the purpose stated by that granite guy. Only time I see tile over a 3" granite backsplash is when they are done at different times (change in homeowners or you decide to add tile in the future). Most people getting new counters will just tile from the counter up....See MoreDo I Need BackSplash? Help with Suggestions!
Comments (27)Posted by budgeteer_s (My Page) on Wed, Dec 31, 08 at 18:18 Thanks for all your suggestions. I wanted so much to follow with ci_lantro's suggestion because then I'm done. I'll gladly let you snatch that paint brush out of my hand. ha ha. But at the same time if a little tiling will tie up the project, then I'm game. jodi_socal: I'm a little disappointed when you said fire and ice won't work. I just LOVE that F&I BS. But then agin, I think I know all along it's a little too much for my kitchen. Caryscott & petra: Thanks for the picture petra, it says a thousand words. Is spectralight glass tiles? Prices are pretty reasonable. What about that milk green color? will it work? maybe with some garnet pieces sparingly mixed in. I will take some pictures and post two HD Behr's paint card to aid in the discussion of color. Thanks again ALL! Correction: My tiles were Alfagres: Gema4x4: different from what caryscott posted: I loved what caryscott linked:...See MoreNeed backsplash recommendations
Comments (11)IMHO the designer's choice would be too busy. (It's also dated, but that wouldn't be why I would discourage it. I think it is currently out of favor because of the difficulty in getting consistent runs. Some travertines would turn pinkish when installed.) The backsplash is a transition point between the cabinet and the counter. Just because you put something next to the granite doesn't mean it will also compliment the cabinet. I would stick to a cream tile, but do a beveled tile, or if you can afford to, a handmade tile that would create some extra interest. You can add a pencil liner as well. I know some have accent tiles or borders, but I haven't really seem them in the kitchens going in currently. Again, this is just my opinion, but people who want to be "impressed" as you put it with the backsplash, should pick a solid counter....See Moreeam44
