SW Perfect Greige. Anybody have it? Funcolors? Amy?
Comments (4)i sampled very many grays and greiges alittle over a year ago... SW perfect greige and BM glacial till became my finalists for our master bath---they're very similar colors. i ended up choosing glacial till because (as i recall) it had just a very slight hint towards more gray--but, still very greige. i love the color- very soft, but deeper and significantly 'beigier' than revere pewter, which is right outside of the bathroom....See MoreSW Kilim Beige and ????
Comments (14)Hi treasuretheday! We decided on Kilim Beige as well for our entire house. However I am going with Alabaster (white, but not a bright white) for our ceiling and trim. Personally, I love the way beige and taupes look with white ceilings and trim. All the colors on the Kilim Beige strip are great. We originally thought we'd go with Nomadic Desert on the same strip, but it had a pink undertone in my space and I was afraid it was too dark. So definitely paint large swatches in your space and look at it in different lights. Your painter can always make Kilim Beige darker as well. We liked a certain color for our exterior and wanted something slightly darker for an accent color. So the painter made it 25% darker, not sure what he mixed it with, but it looks nice. As far as what color to paint everything...check out this pic: [mediterranean bathroom design[(https://www.houzz.com/photos/mediterranean-bathroom-ideas-phbr1-bp~t_712~s_2109) by austin architect Vanguard Studio Inc. Again, this is personal preference, but I think I would do the soffit the same color as the walls. Then the columns either the same color as the walls or the same color as the trim. I'd consider doing the trim/crown in Alabaster (I think this would look nice since your windows are white)and the ceiling in Divine White. Then the medallion either Alabaster or something to match the light fixture. What finish will your light fixtures be, especially the one hanging from the medallion? What color will your light switches and outlets be? What color are your cabinets? Check out www.houzz.com, that is where I found the above picture. Just type whatever you're looking for in the search box. You can save ideabooks as well, one of my all time fave websites. For me, it is always helpful to find inspiration pictures. GOOD LUCK!...See MoreHaving trouble finding a perfect exterior color for my farm house.
Comments (57)Such a beautiful ranch! That brown stain on the current porch overhang would look gorgeous on the rest of the house, including the foundation. I love the idea of dark flat forest green trim on windows and doors. Also agree that fewer but bigger rustic posts, with those diagonal y pieces at the top, would balance the roof and give the porch a solid, welcoming feel. If there are some big conical evergreens native to your area, consider planting a couple in the yard. Their lines would echo the roofline, and reach for the sky, further connecting the house to the land. And that would also work well with the green trim. Reuse that pile of boulders strategically, integrating them with some plantings in front of the porch and a pathway from the parking area to the porch. Over the years, you could change up the front door color with a lighter green in the same family, or a lighter brown, a sage green, or even a mustard color if you are feeling bold. Here's my very rough scribbles to show what I mean. Also put a bigger stoop on that side door if you plan to use it, and a bit of gravel or stepping stones to unobtrusively connect it to the front porch as well....See MoreShow me pictures of SW Balanced Beige on the exterior pls!!
Comments (3)Tell me about selecting Balanced Beige. Did someone suggest it for you? Even if your home isn't built yet, the best way to choose is to get the roof and stone materials together with a large sample of the paint and see how they look together in the natural light. Daylight makes paints look much lighter than indoor light. I don't think Balanced Beige is bad, but there may be something else that works better. Balanced Beige/Black Fox: Warm Stone/Black Fox (similar hue to Balanced Beige but darker and less saturated): Fawn Brindle/Black Fox: Mountain Road/Black Fox: Also, Sherwin Williams offers free color consulting.
