Comments (4)I know this is really after the fact and hopefully you still hang around here... How do you like your grohe exposed valve and hand shower bar set. I'm really thinking of going with this for my shower/bath, but I'd get the one with the tub spout as well. I LOVE the look of it! Anyone else have experience with this?...See MoreThe towel ring and the towel bar
Comments (24)Linelle Once again, you rescued me regarding my hand towel issue with your experience. :):) I have exactly the same layout and was debating between 2 single rod/ 1 double rod/ 1 single rod and 1 ring next to each other. Since my hall bath is being used by my 2 girls and a toddler along with my very old mother-in-law, I wanted to have separate towel placement for them. Thanks a lot for the visual as well. Helped a lot and gonna follow your way. Sofia...See MoreTowel bars or towel hooks??? Help!
Comments (23)Is there any reason not to use robe hooks instead? Many of them look better to me, but they also need to hang onto the towels. The white rubber tip is ingenious, but I'm thinking about how they look when empty (these would be for guests, they could also use them to hang up their clothes when showering.) I have also thought of sewing the loops on the towels, but it seems like that would make them hang even more compressed, and less likely to dry. But in our climate, if you stay so long your towel smells moldy, it is probably time to go home! (But I have lived places where that seems to happen almost immediately, so your mileage may vary) Are some shapes better than others for keeping the towels on? At my in-laws, they fall off before you even turn around, so it's something I'm sensitive to....See MoreTowel bar IN the bath? Do people do that? Show me?
Comments (14)Rebecca, you don't need to block for a towel bar. The towel bars in our tub/shower areas weren't and they stayed stuck for over 30 years. The old one were stuck with mortar and grouted <lol> Didn't loosen at all. Due to my husband being sick when that part of the remodel was being done, ours didn't get blocked either this spring. There are other options that are fine for grab bars, much less towel bars. Here is one I was told about. I'm sure there are more. And as I mentioned earlier, DH is hanging his towel on a double hook and it dries fine. His towels aren't the thick ones tho and he uses a vent and the doors stay open when the bathroom isn't in use...in other words, there is good air circulation. wingits Eliminate the need for structural blocking Guaranteed to NEVER Loosen Water-resistant and Fire-resistant Rated up to 300 lbs.
