Faucet for kitchen remodel
Comments (47)Kathy, I have the same issues. I researched and found for a solution the Ladylux Cafe Ladylux Plus pullout (33737DC0). Hopefully it will be installed within the week. It has a 10-3/8" reach, 12-5/8", and 10-9/16" from spout to top of sink. I found really good reviews for it. It may be the faucet (or discontinued version) that Oaktown has (see msg above). And as stated, it is not elegant looking but I am hoping will be a back saver. The reason I got the discontinued version is that I wanted the handle to move forward and backward from vertical instead of up and down from horizontal. I plan to put the handle in front to make it more accessible as well as for any dripping from wet hands to be into the sink rather than on the counter. Edit: Flow rate on discontinued one is 2.2gpm. I bought it new on ebay. Looks like current version has max flow rate of 1.75gpm. Comments (30)I have Sensate and I have had it almost a year. The sensor is in the curve of the neck of the faucet. By raising your hand up into the curve, you will activate the on/off. It doesn't matter where you stand since the sensor is in the curve not facing you, per say. I can stand on the other side of the island to activate the faucet as long as my hand can reach to the curve of the faucet. My hose will go to the bottom of my sink and to the far corner of the shelf of stages 33. I have it center mounted. Once it wasn't behaving quite right. I checked and the plug had come out of the plug just a little because of the long hose hitting it. Once I re-seated the plug, all was well. The spray is very handy/powerful in preparing dishes for the dishwasher and sweeping debris to the disposal. If I cook pasta or potatoes, the heavy steam will activate the sensor, turning it on or off. To avoid that, just press the lever into the off position and there won't be any water until you activate the faucet again using the lever. There is a tiny indicator light on the hand lever that indicates sensor function is on and ready to go. I keep mine off unless I am cooking/cleaning. BTW, amazon has some Kohler on daily deals if anyone is preplanning....See MoreKeep or replace kitchen faucet?
Comments (15)It looks like your current sink is a 50/50 divide with the faucet centered on the divide. If your new sink is 60/40 the divide in it will be either a few inches to the left or right depending on which way you orientate the bowls. If you continue to line up the faucet with the divide it will be it will not be in the same position it is now. How much it will be moved over depends on the overall size of the sink and the size of the divided bowls. It could be enough to have the faucet centered on the window if the smaller bowl is on the right which could make the new divide 3 or 4 inches to the right (I can't tell from the photo how far off the faucet is now from the center of the window). You will need to look at the specs for the sink you are going to use. In my 33 inch Blanco Silgranite 60/40 sink, the large bowl is 18" wide and the small bowl is 12" so the divide is 3" different than in the 50/50 version of the same size sink. With all that being said, there is no rule that says a faucet has to be aligned with the sink divide. You could put it so that it is in line with the middle of the large bowl or the middle of the small bowl and then it would look like the placement was a planned, deliberate decision rather than being a mistake....See MoreDifference between "classroom" faucet and a kitchen faucet?
Comments (5)I not only don't think it is important to have the spout over the drain, I would tend to avoid it for reasons of clearance. When setting large pots and pans in the sink I want a spout that is set back somewhat and doesn't have to be swiveled out of the way, particularly if I have filled up a large pot with water and want to lift it back out again....See More- 4 years ago
