Hey my northern friends... put a couple pepper plants in flower pots. Mine live by a sunny window all winter long... I had fresh jalapeno in February! My 4-5 y/o cayenne I let die last fall... it put out peppers all year long (two new plants grown from seed of that one). My habenera does not put out peppers in the winter but makes a large leafy houseplant... I've already made chili with fresh ripe habenera this year. I use empty blue plastic coffee cans as pots... which keeps the pepper plant small. I have a Red Savina in a 3 gallon pot that grew 3' tall in the house!.. beautiful house plant that taught my cats not to bite the pretty peppers. The cats about killed the jalapeno by eating the leaves off it last winter. Actually the hot one was very young. Normally I let them turn red (no heat but sweeter)... this one just popped out in the last few days. Other young peppers off that plant were basically plain green pepper without any heat. Other plants grown from that seed package are without heat... I picked at ate some to see. Nice to have these early fresh greens... I have serrenos in the freezer if I need heat. Just stepped on the back deck to check my peppers... two ripe habs that were green yesterday. Little jalapeno plant is pushing out new peppers where I picked and ate yesterday... getting my money's worth from that 20 cent seed packet. I'm single so much of what I grow just gets picked and ate on the spot.

So sorry to hear of your loss. I think since DGM enjoyed gardening so much, she'd love the idea of plantings in your garden, in her memory. On a happier note...Happy Anniversary! Looks like you did some very successful shopping! I love 'one stop shopping' at community TS's...seems you find such a variety of great things. I have the same 'rant' with my GW. So many times I see items that are marked either the same price or higher than the store. Your candle holders were a great find..price and all, they were definitely waiting for you. Lovely cake plate and cute bunny dish. My favorite are the pretty For-Get-Me-Not plates. I love their delicate pattern. I'm thinking their name is also fitting to remember DGM by. I see great tablescapes using them and your other lovely dishes..which were also a great buy. Hope you and DH enjoyed a nice Anniversary with his favorite cake. jane

Okay, so here's the new rough layout. As you can see, I'm reusing the original kitchen wire and switch position for the recessed LED cans and Lutron dimmer. The 3-way will be turned back into singles, with a Leviton Decora (single pole, dual switch) for the over table fixture and matching pendant over the sink. I would also like to use another dual switch for the undercab LED's, using the lower switch for those and having the top switch ready for above cabinet LED tape(?) light after I tear out the soffit when re-dooring/refinishing the cabinets. The right side switch (near the garage) of the previous 3-way will again be a Lutron dimmer and recessed LEDs in the living room area. Looking at it now, I don't know if it's worth re-ganging the right side switches just for the gimball/eyeball recessed pointing at some wall art...maybe I'll skip that for now. I do have tons of mosquito fish in the pond, so I don't know if they are eating those. When I throw fish food in there, all the little mosquito fish swim around the food. When the koi go to open their mouth to eat the food, they get some of the mosquito fish as part of their meal.
