A "flying pig". There was a contest years ago and these large pigs in different conformations were made and then painted. I don't remember the winning pig but all the pigs were then auctioned off and some ended up on public property while others ended up in private hands. They are still fun to see around town from time to time.

Pretty natives and cool stone border at the L.A. Natural History Museum

seagrass_gw Cape Cod We have had frigid temps for a long time this month - the ponds and the bayside are frozen. tI's beautiful. This is First Encounter Beach in Eastham.

Chloebud, seeing your sister's gorgeous rhododendrons reminded me of when I was in Killarney in Ireland. We were on a tour and riding in a horse drawn cart with our very cute Irishman driver when we saw lots of rhododendrons scattered throughout a small forest nearby. He told us they were in the process of cutting them all down because they are an invasive species there and they want to be rid of them. Shocking to someone who loves flowers but understandable about the invasive species part of it.
