It is so nice to be surprised like that, isn't it? I don't have any of the ones mentioned, but I'm sure they are wonderful. You will have to post pics as soon as you get some. Kind of got a family affair going on there with the daylily thing. I am so hoping my girls get into it so we can share. I would really love it if my husband would. My mom will die today i just spoke to her last night. i think she knew she was going to die we joked about funeral arrangements and today i got a call from my sister who told me they had given her cpr twice since she went to the hospital. The doctor wants me to sign a dnr since i am the oldest . My mom is my best friend and i do not know what to do . I am flying to texas today where she is at since i live in n.c. but with no intention to make a decision until i get to see her and say goodbye. am i wrong or selfish for making her weight a lil longer. She is currently unconcious i do not know what i will do with out her

Patty, I know or think I know how you feel. The guilt is not productive and you will let that go eventually. Losing our parents no matter the age is difficult. 91 is ripe age, but having alzheimers is so difficult. My mama was blind and I always thought that was horrible for her, and it was. But she had her mind and I think losing your memory is even worse. Don't beat yourself up over the nursing home. It does sound like they are severely negligible and you certainly could entertain a lawsuit after your emotions calm a bit. I know your mom is happy and at peace in a wonderful place now with your dad! Take comfort in that and take care of yourself. Duane

Thanks for all your suggestions and advice. I sure don't want to turn it down and then have it sit forever! My friend is doing this for me because my husband and I have down a lot for her over the years. She doesn't work for a real estate company, she is independent. It has a lock box and sign, it isn't FSBO. My friend told me these people have been looking for six months and really love the house. I asked her if it would be okay to wait through the weekend and see what else is offered, we have another showing today and one tomorrow. She thought that would be okay. The average days on the market for a one story is about 30 days. Another house with the same floor plan sold for full asking price, $208,000 last month in 21 days. That house had pets, though, and the carpet was bad and it needed painting. It also didn't have the front porch and bricked floored covered patio. My friend isn't surprised that we got an offer so fast. She says there aren't many one story homes on the market in Flower Mound and mine has a three car garage which is hard to find. With no basements in this area, a large garage is a big selling point.
