Why is my Leu Gardens Shaving Brush Tree grafted?
Comments (5)The way we decided it was grafted is that my friend noticed that the trunk had thorns and so she assumed it was silk floss. Then we noticed that the three silk floss branches on top also have thorns and decidedly different leaves from the one branch that I know was the original. I will try to take a picture but my camera is not charging for some reason. I thought about a mixed tree but since the 3 silk floss branches have all appeared just since Spring and I have gotten no new shavng brush branches I am worried that the silk floss is so much more vigorous that it will take all the energy and I will lose the shaving brush. But I am really just speculating as I have no experience! Calling Eric at Leu is a good idea. Anita PS Katkin - could I get a cutting of your pink shaving brush so I can try to root it? I can trade stuff and have a pretty eclectic collection. If you tell me what interests you I will propose some items. Comments (4)Since this is an outer wall, I'll wager this is thermal expansion/contraction of the piping or heating elements. When I was very young, the house had a family room that had been converted from a screened porch. A loop of hydronic baseboard heat was the easiest to add to a system that had radiators elsewhere. As the heat would come on, one could hear the baseboards creaking with expansion, which would occur sequentially around the room. Sounded like some small and not especially energetic critter making the rounds. If you don't see droppings, you don't have mice. Snakes, maybe, but not mice.... ;-) Cheers...See MoreSS Support - Mon Dec 13th through Sun Dec 19th
Comments (79)OPh my. I go away for a couple of days, and Raeanne and Suzanne start the French Lick party without me! LOL! For everyone's infomation, all 3 of mine are the truths! (JK!!!LMAO!) I guess Suzanne is # 3 Raeanne is # 2 Well, it is a quiet Saturday night here. Rog went to bed early, and I'm watching Flashdance, and thinking OMG--did I ever really wear torn sweatshirts?? (yep.) I think that's why I love to watch old(er) movies--for just a second, I am back to an age where there wasn't any major problems, and I still believed all people were good, and the whole world was open for the taking. :):) OK--advice needed--mom keeps wanting me to come over and watch some 2+ hours, B&W, 1940 movie with who-knows in it (I've never heard of them). At the risk of sounding like a cold-hearted @#!^%, I have NO (none, el zilcho, nada) desire to do this--heck, I don't even have the time to watch what I actually want to watch, much less this thing. Now, I know how important spending time with her and dad is, and I enjoy just sitting around yapping, but our choices of movies are a complete 180. The last time I got coerced into this, I pr@yed to die of boredom, and then fell asleep. It was a truly aweful movie, and part of me resents being guilted into this. We're fixing Christmas dinner for Christmas Eve to take over, before we go to Midnight services, and mom brought up this d@mned movie again. Gawd, I'll watch it, but I'd rather be sh0t--any suggestions? (I really am not being cold, I would just rather sit around and talk--and she knows this.) Anyhoo--hope this finds everone well! When are we going to reveal the truths? Hugs, Maddie PS--Suzanne, I got your package yesterday, but I couldn't get my x-ray glasses to work! Darn piece of cr@p!! LMAO!!...See MoreWhere to shave my legs?
Comments (3)My niece just remodeled and she put a small low niche that works perfectly. High enough to have not have to lean over too far, but low enough to maintain balance. There's no grab bar. If doing this I might want a grab bar in shower also....See More- 4 years ago
