Love pickup AND delivery. Have delivery set for this Thurs.

Last time I ordered pickup, my neighbor went for me. I found they had added a big of gummy bears. My neighbor was happy!

I rode along with my DH to the bank today. Banking by appointment only, by the way. Anyway, while waiting in the car in the parking lot a car pulled into a nearby space. A young woman carefully put on her mask, got out of the car and went to the ATM. I could see through the sun glare on the windows that there was another occupant in her car, thinking probably a child. When she got back to her car and opened the door, she was greeted with great enthusiasm by a Golden Retriever with a cone over it's head. From the back seat, the dog was hanging over the drivers seat his head and that cone filling up half the entrance to the car making it difficult for the gal to get in. She was laughing and I was too. The dog was so excited to have her back even though she was gone for maybe 3 minutes and never out of sight. Happy dogs and their people never cease to lift my spirits!

I agree, the little things...like NOT having Covid! :0) Having our health! I'm very appreciative. Counting my blessings. The pantry has always been stocked. Safeway had cantaloupe for .99 each. That was NICE!

Our next door neighbors are the nicest young couple, with the sweetest 20-month old girl. The other day I was walking our dog past their driveway. Glanced up and saw dad and little girl sitting in their car, smiling and waving and so excited to see me and dog! Little girl was in the driver's seat, dad was letting her 'pretend-drive' -- so cute, I remember doing that as a kid :-)

I got TP today! Not the cheap one-ply stuff either - it was a 12 pack of Charmin' two-ply! And, the grocery store had enormous artichokes at @ 2 for $3!

And, yes. Something like this situation we are all in really does make one appreciate the little things in life.

My DIL brought me a beautiful piece of roast hand rubbed pork my son made and a mess of frijoles negros y arroz her mama made, for my supper YUM!

I've tried The Harris Teeter order and pick-up (was very difficult to get a pick-up time. Also tried Food Lion......a little easier to get pick-up time but many items not included in order. Walmart by far was the best experience for me. Others may have had a different experience. I would do it again in a heartbeat. Haven't been in a grocery store in over a month.

Got free delivery from Wal Mart for Thursday. Yea!

I never was a big shopper, but now it's like yippy I need milk or the grandgirls are staying overnight and need bologna which constitute a trip to the grocery store.

I got a birthday card from my sister today and my birthday gift was enclosed - a square of TP! She said she can spare a square! lol!

For the first time in many years I heard a spring peeper. This immediate area was hard hit by the disease/fungus that killed so many amphibians of all types 10+ years ago. Perhaps if it is still singing later this year I might find toads in my yard.

Can't remember ever being excited about getting dog food 'cause it's always been there.

I was the same way a few weeks back when I couldn't find any. I found a bag about 5 lbs at one store (and paid almost as much for it as in normally do a 14 lb bag). then my BIL found a small bag when he went shopping. and about a week or 2 later I found one about 14 lbs. so with what I had my girl will have food for a good spell. I was more concerned about her food than needing anything else. my BIL is ordering me another big bag when he orders their dog food, so she'll won't go hungry. he's got a list of things I need (or will need soon) so he picks it up for me when he shops. that helps to keep me down to just 1 trip out every 7 to 10 days. and just to one store and home.

Having the kids plant a lot of my garden this week made me happy. When it is warmer more will get planted.

I heard on the radio this morning that peepers are out in full force - more than other years. And LOUD! The windows will be open when they start today, no matter how cold. It's usually in the 30's by then. Too bad. I want to want to hear that beautiful chorus. They may start early as it is overcast. A lovely spring ritual that I've always enjoyed.

Yes it is the little things and I finally lucked out on WalMart online. Ordered on Wed and these arrived Fri. It was the only brand I recognized. But now I have lots of little things and can share with my kids.

It's amazing what DH and I exclaim over in the grocery order. Look what I found! Do you believe this? Toilet paper! Look at these lemons! We're like little kids who just got a bag of marbles! Fun, actually.

Our store shelves aren't stuffed with products, but except for the first 2 weeks after the hoarder got all they wanted we don't have a problem getting the groceries we want. It surprises me that some areas are still having problems. The only thing I noticed lacking is rubbing alcohol, Clorox wipes, lysol and hand sanitizer. The only thing I use of those is the rubbing alcohol.

Maire, I cannot even get any T.P. to come up on their site to order it.

Function - That is a lot of TP - but Walmart was only showing it by the case which actually works out OK because I have 3 adult kids, a DDIL and one GD and they're all running low on TP.

Georgysmom - it really was just luck. I checked every site I could think of for TP, PT and dry yeast for DH's bread baking. Sometimes I logged on several times a day and everyone was out of stock. But last Wed WalMart had it listed but to order a case - but still no yeast.

Today's happiness......I got flour AND brown sugar! Happy days are here again........

I got cases of tomato products today from Red Gold Outlet. All to be shared with my kids. I did not go out, oldest daughter went, she was the only customer there. Also at Harvest Market got ten pounds of bacon for $19.99.

I have something good to report! My flannel order came today. It's a Stadium blanket (Cameron Tartan) and a pair of lounge pants (Black Watch). Gorgeous - and of the highest quality. Very soft and snugs. I rarely buy anything for myself and even less frequently something at a high price. I just realized too that I often put those items away for "a special occasion" You know what that means - I never see it again. Well, here comes a new leaf that I'm just about to turn over. No more doing that. Every day is a special occasion and I'm going to treat it as such. I need to be mindful about this - it's a long term habit to change. Yeah for me!!

I was happy I just got two kinds of lettuce planted.

Yay for you, Skibby! I think that's a good idea.

Skibby, I tend to also put my treasured purchases away for special occasions then realize later that they are no longer in fashion or fit me. That's an excellent goal and one I'm going to try to follow as well.

Right on Skibby! I have a gold mesh bracelet my dad gave me. I use to wear it on special occasions. One night I picked up and put it on to go play bridge. I decided at 80 something, if I wait for special occasions, I would never wear it again. It was meant to be enjoyed.

We're gearing up like we wound down. I'm going to DRIVE THROUGH early tomorrow like I was mid-late March. We're actually ahead of the national curve. So this is really ok.

Finally my house dresses arrived, as did some nightgowns I ordered. I feel so pretty!! And comfy!!! I think Skibby has a great point, above, no more waiting for 'special occasions' to feel nice and comfortable.

Another feel good dog story for you. Yesterday DH and I were in the front yard trimming a bush. The new neighbor, with her Border Collie on a leash, from 3 houses down walked up past apparently seeking some time out and exercise. I have not met these people yet, but I have often seen the dog engaged in games of fetch across the back yards. The woman and the dog came back past about 30 minutes later and the dog was carrying a large stick, about 18' long and an inch thick. I laughed and called to her saying, "it looks like someone has found a treasure to take home". She responded, "Yes, and you wouldn't believe how far he has carried it, there was no changing his mind."

Yes, happy dogs and their people....a mood lifting thing.

Icmd, When Georgy was younger, she did the same thing. It was so funny to see her proudly prancing along.
