Comments (6)I think it could be a place to make a few dollars ... I don't know if it will make enough to retire on though ... I had a a senior client like yours once .. she would call once a season ... I would bring an assortment of annuals to fill pots and a bit of light pruning on some existing vines ... it was easy fun work ... I enjoyed here company as well ... I think if you had enough of those customers ... that is if you worked the area / market well it may make even better then a few dollars ... Pricing though is your job ( don't pass the buck !! ) ... look at your own expenses and profit goals ... feel out the clients you have to get an idea of what the market price can be. Make it happen. Good Day ......See Morea good source for senior housing
Comments (3)I hope each of you called the state medical board of licensing- to report the stench. A clean unit does not smell! Remember- as long as these places are allowed to get away with it, they will. And you may end up in there sometime in your life- you don't always have the option of where you will go. You can also have to use the facility at a young age- not having to wait until you are old and unable to care for yourself. If you were to be injured, and were medically stable, you might need weeks/months of rehab. these places are where you go to do rehab. If it is bad- REPORT IT!! You have a moral obligation! You are helping these people live in misery if you do not report it! ilmbg(RN)...See MoreRetirement Homes
Comments (23)My grandfather lived in a full service development, Brooksby, Peabody mass. Very nice place. It is an aging in place facility, so you are independent when you move in, then as you need more services, they are available. There are all the amenities you could ever want. It is fancier than I would want, but it is beautiful place, lovely people. Here is the website https://www.ericksonliving.com/brooksby-village/welcome-brooksby-village-retirement-community My folks, who are mid 70’s, just bought a seasonal site at Traverlers Rest RV park in Dade City. They cater to the winter crowd. My folks drive their RV down in December and stay thru April. http://www.travelersrestresort.com/ It is a really big place, lots of people from all over the US and Canada. There are activities and clubs for anything you like. (from quiliting to small engine repair to singing and dance) There are also on going classes as well as weekly entertainment and gatherings. The church is very well attended often pulling in 300 members. Now for those that don’t have an RV, there are park models or single/double wides that can be purchased. Last year there was a single wide for sale, furnished for $25,000+ the $3000 seasonal fee annually. That is a great deal. Then all you have to do is drive down. You could maintain one place for the winter, then another for the summer in a different state! Also, no property/school taxes, no property maintenance (lawn mowing)….it would be an interesting alternative to owning/maintaining property....See MoreSenior savings - life insurance
Comments (47)The image and link are for a bare bones POA, given out for free by a non-profit org, intended for low income persons and senior citizens. That's great and a valuable service for those intended groups they wish to help. Reading what a form says is not the same as understanding what the law requires or permits. This form is deficient in more ways than I want to spend time to mention and is probably not suitable for use by anyone other than those with very limited income, assets and liabilities. Edit to add - The reason why some of the earlier posts shown above written by other people seem to be carrying on one-side conversations is that someone removed several of my posts. That's fine, but the danger is that many of the posts that remain contain information and explanations about powers of attorney I believe are incorrect. The removed posts I had written included my views (I'm a CPA with experience with this actually simple and straight forward topic) and explanations why I believed several comments others had made were wrong. The comments I believe wrong remain, my corrections were removed. Anyone for whom this subject may be relevant should be sure to get advice from individuals with the right qualifications to offer such advice....See Moreyeonassky
