Comments (12)Yep, they were in the pics, they would be on the left hand side of the pics showing the grouping of trees. I find it way too easy to laugh as fozzybeth... way way too easy. shes just... lets say unique ;) thanks for the comments thought :0 we'll see what the pics look like in a month or 2 heh the Pom doesn't look so good anymore... it has lost 80% of its leaves now :( ahh, the mess will be soon over and all the remaining trees BETTER keep all their leaves!!! I am really worried about WLD. I am NOT wanting to go through it, but... being I have alrady moved them in, I should be ok I think. the leave drop is due to the change in temp, and then... I just hope I am ok on it. no bugs so far on any trees... so hoping to be safe! Make sure fozzy beth knows how crazy I think she is, and how much I apreciate all she has done... and that I am waiting impatiently on haircuts hehehe...See MoreI thought this would be fun to share - Georg Jensen
Comments (3)I would say mid 50's rather than 60's. Things of that sort were marketed and used by young women out on a date. You needed no evening bag...because you had all you needed dangling from a ring that you slipped over your finger. I sure have seen things like that....but never in sterling. Polish it carefully and admire it a lot! Linda C...See MoreThought I would share some pictures of my bitter sweet vacation.
Comments (26)I'm sorry for the loss of your mom. I lost mine the day after Thanksgiving (alzheimer's -- the cousin of ALS) and my dad at the end of April I know my mom would not have wanted to keep me from a trip. In fact, she waited until I left her room. My dad also passed after I went home to get a little sleep and before I could get back. One of the hospice nurses told me that happens in a majority of cases. They may not want you to witness their last breath. Your photos are beautiful and it looks like a wonderful way to reconnect with life, reflect and recharge. I hope you felt your mom's presence and her blessings while you were there. I know she was in your heart. The memorial service sounds perfect for her, you and your sister....See MoreI Thought You Might Enjoy Seeing . . .
Comments (59)I have sort of a "natural experiment" (aka "by accident") going on with restricting the size of Fortuniana by not irrigating it in summer. Late last winter I moved a 'Fabvier' up to a spot at the very edge of the cared-for part of my garden and grabbed the water line of the Fortuniana I also have growing up there (wild-and-crazy and regularly pruned) and gave it to 'Fabvier', figuring I would get around to fixing something up for Fortuniana later. Well, the summer went along and then it was fall without me getting around to it and I'm realizing that the Fortuniana still looked fine, though not putting on lots of new growth. Never did give it irrigation, and rains started in early November. Looked at it this morning -- lots of new leaves and flower buds, but no wild-and-crazy octopus canes yet, which it used to produce all the time when it got summer irrigation. I know of at least a few banksia roses at old houses around town that don't get any summer water but have persisted for a long, long time, and I am curious now to see how Fortuniana fares under that regime. Imagine this strategy wouldn't work in Florida, though, jin......See Moresignet_gw(6b)
