Rookie Mistake I Don't Know How I Should Fix
Comments (4)Steve, I have supports that have 3 flat sides, like a long triangular shape. It opens so that I can position 1 side against the plant, then the second, then the third. I use these in self-watering containers and it works very well. I imagine you could get them on even a relatively large plant....See MoreTrying to fix my mistakes, please help
Comments (2)Look at what we did in our front yard. It was all grass with an aggregate area at the sidewalk to the curb. Our dd was four months old when we got our house., She's now almost 13, and our ds is almost 11. We still have a lawn area in the back yard that's fine for the kids, they climb in the tree all the time in the front along the sidewalk. We recently planted three evergreen pear trees on on side yard we've turned into a Secret Garden for the children, to create some shade canopy. We are going to plant couple of trees good the climb in on the back lawn, still figuring just what (probably apples). I'd wanted to do this for some time, DH just recently came around to the idea. We got tired of the cookie cutter front lawn look that so many people have out here. We're probably thought of as landscaping radicals in the neighborhood (hey, our house is periwinkle blue too!), but we look how it looks now, its truly US as family! We get lots of compliments on the changes we have made over the years. To see pics of our recent landscaping projects including the Secret Garden, and Roses we grow, ck out my Picture Trail: careytearose Here is a link that might be useful: look at Landscaping Projects, Favourite ROSES We Grow albums...See MorePlease help me fix my spray painting mistake
Comments (5)Did you sand or chemically degloss and prime the frame before painting? If not, then the gold paint you have on there won't be adhering too strongly. You can wipe the frame with some mineral spirits or paint thinner and see what comes off. Then you'll need to start over. Sand the frame. Prime the frame. You can use the same gold that you already have and then glaze on top of it with an oil based glaze in a brownish tone. That will greatly tone down the gold and give it that "antique" tone. How much of the glaze you wipe off will determine how bright the gold is that's exposed.....See MoreHow can I fix my mistake for prepping kitchen cabinets for paint?
Comments (29)My job is not quite DIY (but not quite a pro painter) since I am a handyman by trade (for the last 16 years) and do similar projects and do recommend much higher end materials, but my brother is on a budget since he is just trying to get the house sold and he lost his job roughly 8 or 9 months ago and has not been able to find a job since the holidays or COVID. Times have been tough and he is incapable of getting results like this on his own. I usually rent all my equipment and he does not even have the budget for that so I finally decided to purchase my own airless for his project. Everything was done the exact way a pro painter would have done it on the exception of the materials and not having layed the cabinet doors flat while spraying to allow the paint to self level. We used the cup hook and coat hanger method to save time even though you run the risk of having the paint run or not have proper coverage if you don't run the sprayer at the correct speed. Thank you wiscokid and eam44 for your input on the matter. Live_wire_oak, at some point everyone was not a professional and did not know how to paint, even you; you have to start somewhere and should be educating people without making them feel bad about their decisions. I did not expect a high end professional job, but neither did I expect a DIY result either....See MoreCreative Tile Eastern CT
