For awhile these were causing intestinal blockages in pets but I would assume they've changed the ingredients to avoid this. Best to check.

I give a few to my kitties on occasion...but I still have to brush their teeth.

And my dog won't go near them :-)

When my cat needed "pill pockets" for his antibiotics, he swallowed his Greenies pill pockets whole! But.....he has a grain allergy. He really can't eat them. Otherwise....a real treat for those that can eat grain!

Mia won't touch them, but she refuses any and all dog treats I have tried to give her. Now she did take and nibble on a CAT 🙀 treat. Wouldn't you just know it! Of course I wouldn't give her cat treats although I doubt the small amount she would eat wouldn't hurt her. She ends up hiding them and I find in strange places like under the pillow in the bed.

I have never given Greenies to any of my dogs because of the potential for intestinal blockage. If any of you read Marley and Me, you can understand my concern. Plus one of my dogs was a Lab--Labs more or less inhale food & treats.

The treats that my dogs have gone bonkers over is nori, Beggin Strips and, with my new dog, a Sheltie, it's ice cream. I swear that dog would stand on his head if that would work for him to score Ice Cream. Ice Cream is reserved as a Because it's Sunday Treat,

My dog's favorite treat is cheese....any kind of cheese. I often have cheese and crackers and a bit of fruit for lunch or a snack and he will stare at me intently, usually drooling, until I give him a taste :-) He also likes pup-a-roni and chicken jerky but has no interest in biscuits at all.

My vet does not recommend them due to an intestinal blockage that can occur. She has dealt with several in her practice. I have a lab and most don't chew, just inhale like a vacuum :)

Annie, do you (can you) really brush your cats teeth? I can't imagine my kitty would be up for that 😊.

Yes, I don't use them either because they have caused deaths in dogs. Especially if you have a dog that inhales, and doesn't chew.

A few years ago I tried them, and all 3 cats puked them up. Something in them doesn't agree with them.

I got online, and read the reviews which are horrible. The vets and pet stores sell them, and I think they should be taken off the shelves.

OK folks, I just got off the phone from the vet's office. So many of these posts made me concerned - not to worry. There was a time when there were issues that came up but they said now the product has been revamped and that there is no problem with it. Plus the fact that when she eats them she chews them up - she does not swallow them whole.

That's good to know, might give them another try.

Our cat took pills in the Greenie pockets for several days, but then got wise. Ate the pocket, left the pill. Of course, then I learned that you should be sure not to touch the pocket with the same fingers that hold the pill, lest the taste get on the pocket. Too late now. We are back to pill+treat after, or transdermal in the ear.

Bpath, reminds me of when I had to pill my cat. I was thrilled that she was so compliant. Then I did some deep cleaning under the dresser, and there were a bunch of pills she'd spit out. Cats are wily.

@lisaam-- we had a dog (actually our most recent prior one, Jane) who was a rescue but seemed to be part pit, lab and maybe some other delights. Anyway, whenever I would cut up veggies she was thrilled to get some. Mostly it was cucumbers (and yes when I peeled them she was thrilled with the peel. also slices:) and I think sometimes green pepper. I was told it was actually fine and good for her.

My one dog loves veggies, the other one turns her nose up at them. Her favorite is cheese, she goes crazy for a little bite, especially cheddar. They both like apples and a salmon treat that is quite stinky, so it is outside only.

My dog loves carrots, blueberries and apples. When it comes to pilling, all my pets are/were expected to take them without fuss or trickery.

I wrap pills in cheese for the dog. He will eat a variety of foods if you let him. He's pickier about his treats. He'll eat certain kinds at certain times. If it doesn't meet his standards, he may try to trade it in.

The cat and I have never developed a easy going relationship. One pill and we're at war.
