My sister. My hero

This is my sister, Mary Kay. My 9 yr. old granddaughter, Audrey, was born on her 50th birthday April 17! She's a Respiratory Therapist who took a pay cut and left clinical work 3 years ago to become a Respiratory Case Manager in a hospital office. She's 5'3''and about 100# and moving big patients by herself for 30 yrs. was killing her back. Yesterday, she went back into clinical work to relieve exhausted RTs. She's my hero! Her husband's comment on this pic was, "Luke! I am your mother!" 😆

Comments (3)ky la: Thank you for sharing your father's obituary. When I read it it brought back memories of growing up in Boise and visiting my older brother who went to school at ISU in Pocatello. Your father sounds like a terrific man who certainly left this world way too early. I know that I can tell you the obvious, that you should not blame yourself, that there is no reason to feel guilt. You will have many folks telling you this, but the olny thing that will really ease those terrible feelings is time. Know that with time things will become easier. Know that different folks greive in different ways. A person who outwardly appears to be in complete control may just be torn up inside... it's hard to tell. I'm sorry about your dad. Comments (37)Well Lou, the table actually had a very large board that came with it but for big cooking we just cleared off the whole table and went at it right on the table. Sometimes the board would be used to put some of the ravioli and such on when we ran out of the five feet. Smiles. Oh yes, I sure had fork duty. And I am an expert at rolling the gnocchi with a fork. She had her own method where you would push on the gnocchi sitting on the table with just the right pressure and a deft swish and it would roll perfectly. Yes, the macaroni was rolled with a long dowel one of her sons cut for her. Just remembered: The board was used if company was coming for polenta, otherwise when her family had it for dinner they just poured the polenta on the middle of the table, covered it with the sauce with the sausage and such and the kids all had spoons. Comments (5)my sister claims that she was scared of me since i had gone for a walk and two times people had yelled obscenities at me while walking she tries to justify it furthermore she was criticizing me everyday about what i ate whether it was a soup or salad or rice and beans she would say its not healthy. I finally asked her if she could please stop giving me a hard time about my diet. She responded by screaming and cursing at me. It sure seems to me she was not scared of me. If you are scared of someone are u going to try to start a fight and scream and curse at them? my parents have always favored my sister. I apolgized to her three times that night and she refused to even speak to me. She is the one who should have been apologizing to me but i did so to try to keep the peace. How am i supposed to deal with this situation? The sister who read my journal and copied it had an altercation with my other sister and they were not speaking to each other for a year. Why cant my parents admit that she was wrong. I never thought of reading thru her personal papers on her desk or on the kitchen counter. I am deeply hurt by what she did but even more so by my parents reaction. If i was successful with a good job I would seperate myself from them but due to me not being successful in society and having problems with depression they always blame me and my mental illness. Comments (4)I was reading on the a Monarch Watch website about Monarchs and the tagging process. Apparently they are quite durable compared to other butterflies, and the best way to handle them is actually by their wings. When my brother was collecting Eastern Tiger Swallowtails, he held them by their wings and slipped them into small paper envelopes for safe transport.
