How to fix this light?
Comments (2)You can see two springs that hook on the trim ring. Undo those screws. You can them measure the diameter of the metal can that is in the ceiling, or just take your trim to a box store. Go to the recessed light section and look for a "trim kit" matched to the the diameter of your recessed can. Some trim kits are held by springs, as yours is. Some are friction-fit. You can use either. You can kill two stones with one bird by selecting an LED retrofit bulb that will fit that can. Many of the bulbs are integral with the trim ring, the diffuser disc, and the spring legs that hold it in the can. Many have a screw-in edison adaptor in the package. Often times the retrofit LED bulb with integral trim kit will be comparable or lower in price than just buying a trim kit. The one I linked to has the spring-wire legs that hook into slots in the interior of the can. If yours has no slots, other retrofit lights have three somewhat stiffer spring legs that friction fit inside the can....See Morehow to fix right side of my vanity lighting?

Comments (15)The Eagle has landed! Only took 4 days to arrive. This Ruvati sink model became unavailable on Amazon right after I ordered, even though it said 8 were left. I had called Ruvati before placing the order to see if Amazon was the best way to order it. Very helpful person named Summit answered the phone. So I knew there were no others left in their warehouse. Considering all possibilities... what if I had the last of current inventory and I was getting someone else's reject? Timing of arrival to my door was perfect. Right when my AC repairman had turned on the heat (yes, heat in Austin Texas in June) to thaw the frozen AC coils. We had 15 min to kill while my house heated up. So naturally I said, "Hey, wanna see what my new sink looks like?" He was game! We unpackaged... After several layers of carefully packaged cardboard and foam, I find a black silky stocking as the final layer of protection around the stainless steel sink, OMG it is HUGE ! The construction and finishing of those corners + ledge is really impressive. What is purpose of these squares? Website pic of the bad-a*s rounded corners that look even more impressive in person where the corners meet the ledge. Serious manufacturing skills to create that result. First impressions of the Ruvati RVH8003 kitchen sink workstation: - Incredibly well packaged and packed. Almost iPhone level thought into how it's packaged for shipment and removal from the box. - Thanks to the thoughtful packaging, 2 outermost cardboard dents didn't affect anything inside. - Love the black silk Ruvati "stocking" that surrounds the sink as the final layer of protection - WOW it is HUGE. Like... I could perform an autopsy in it ...huge. My first reaction after seeing it naked outside of all packaging: ::Panic Attack:: OMG I must have ordered the 45" by mistake !!! Run to get tape measure. Measure it. Nope, just 33 x 22. ::Panic Attack:: OMG I must have measured my current sink wrong. Walk quickly to my existing kind-of-puny-looking double-bowl sink and measure it Yep, it's 33 x 22. Am I witnessing a David Copperfield-level optical illusion? ::Whew:: - LOVE the rounded seams in the corner of the sink. Very pro. Very perfect. - No scratches at all. - Like the sound it makes when I thump it "Heavy duty SoundGuard undercoating and thick rubber NoiseDefend padding – minimizes noise and reduces condensation" VERY happy....See MoreNeed to install pendant light but how do we fix this?
Comments (12)Thank you all! If we remove it (and we need to because I don't trust this situation), patch it, etc. does that mean that the entire kitchen and great room ceiling will have to be painted? Do you paint a textured ceiling or do they have to "texture" the entire two rooms again? This house is 20 years old and nothing has been maintained. I did like cat_ky idea of maybe putting a ceiling medallion. I wonder if they make square ones - I will look that up. She has to have an electrician come and check everything. The owner has weird electrical wiring ALL over this house especially the basement. None of the outlets in the basement work. He sheetrocked in the WATER SHUT OFF VALVE when he finished the basement himself... Oh my.......See MoreRobyn Allen
