My preference would be semi-gloss. They are equally durable, but the high gloss will show smudges and imperfections more.

We did something similar recently. Our house is also cream. Unless you're going to install a different size or style of shutters, Instead of replacing them, just have them painted. It's less expensive and you'll end up with the same results. We went with a dark teal on the shutters and love it! Then for the door, depending on the what you like, you could do red, gray, a fun apple green or a lighter shade of the teal. They were hunter green before. This is the shade we chose but I've included some other options below. My husband wouldn't agree to painting the door, but this was my inspiration for it. I love the way it looks.

Looking for suggestions for front door color, shutters, and garage door. My daughter bought this home in winter so landscaping will need to be addressed this spring, if it ever warms up !! Are shutters attractive with this house design? Kids have talked about removing them. The roof has a gray green color. Can someone photo shop this for me? I think your brick is classic with black and white, as in P Banos' first example. Be sure to paint your downspouts to blend with the brick. ETA - Another thought...this is BM Tarrytown Green that can work nicely with certain brick.
