Da nada. If you can find one of those large plastic coffee cans empty, they are perfect for storing the treated stack of filters for cleaning. The snap on lid keeps 'em moist and the opening is large enough to get a hand in to pinch one from the stack. BTW, what are you planning on using for the cleaning agent? I have my own pre-treated disposable wipes with different solutions for different cleaning jobs. Just curious what you are using. I like to learn new stuff. I make my own cleaners because they are both safer and more economical. *Win/Win*

Thanks to everyone who posted replies! I live in an area with very hard water, and have made my own laundry soap a few times, using Fels Naptha, Borax & Arm & Hammer washing soda. We replaced our TL Maytag (which was working, but very annoying in that it wanted to take a walk around the laundry room with increasing frequency) with a Whirlpool FL machine a couple of years ago. I had plenty of regrets with this machine from the beginning, but that's another topic! I originally used a store bought detergent (probably All free & Clear?) and then decided to make my own detergent again. It was sooo cheap, by golly! And though it was very gradual, I noticed in the last few months that all my clothes and towels were getting dingier than ever. I also noticed that sweat smells remained after washing, resulting in clothes being tossed out. To top it all off, my washer started to stink (along with my clothes and especially towels) and I have mildew or mold on the rubber gasket (eew!). I eventually switched back to a store-bought detergent from Costco, but the damage to my family's clothes is done. I have to use a bunch of spray (Shout) to pre-treat any and all stains if I want to have any hope of getting them out. I really couldn't figure out why; I knew that hard water was a large part of the problem, but I never bothered to research it until now. I am really sick of my clothing and linens looking old and tired long before their time. Anyway, I appreciate everyone taking the time to post this enlightening info- thanks a bunch!

After not having a dishwasher for the first 28years of my life and spending 30+ minutes a day doing dishes (I cook a lot), I have been using my new dishwasher for 2 months and hope to never go without one again!! I am slightly confused about people's comments about the water/ice dispensers in fridges. Most of the standard fridge/freezers we looked at came w/ the dispensers, I feel like saying you don't want them would limit your options and/or cause you to buy a more expensive fridge (like the counter depth ones). Assuming you are getting a new one instead of an older one on craigslist etc. We did a lot of fancy custom things in our kitchen, but since we did a lot DIY we saved a lot of money. Some of the money saving choices we made were vinyl flooring (love this for comfort anyway), partially making our own cabinets, installing everything ourselves, getting a common granite (uba tuba), tiling our backsplash ourselves, and our island pendant lights. Some of our splurges were appliances (mainly- our 48" capital range), cabinet hardware, and lots of drawers, backsplash tile (although the tile we chose was reasonable, it was still more expensive than a painted wall), and stone underneath the island seating. I love seeing the choices different people make while still meeting their budget goals! :-)

I feel your pain about your faux wood floors. Unfortunately, I don't have a choice, I am an apartment dweller. 🫤 When they first put them in, I was thrilled, they seemed so "cool," "modern," and neutral (yep, in that fugly "greige" that's so popular now for some strange reason). Shortly thereafter, I discovered the awful truth: they're cold... in look, feel, and insulating properties (I'm in the Midwest). They're very hard and uncomfortable to walk on without shoes or squishy slippers (did they even put an underlayment down first?), they make me sound like an elephant when I walk on them, they have a weird rough "grit" to them that I can't seem to get rid of (is it because they're new?); there's no shine, they always look dirty (probably because they ARE); and every drop of water leaves a mark. It seems I'm constantly sweeping, Swiffering, wiping, vacuuming...and my apartment always has that weird "new car" smell from either the glue or the plastic itself (yay, health hazards). Not only that, but the installers were very haphazard: there are many areas of the floor that sound literally hollow when I walk over them. I then made the mistake of seeing the type of flooring that my next door neighbor has. Because her apartment is older, she has the "older" style of faux flooring: warm, gorgeous, honey colored, and inviting. It was such a marked difference from what I have, I was shocked...and very jealous. 😭 Even my former apt in another state had darker "wood" floors, but they were fabulous: soft underfoot, didn't show water or stains, easy to clean. But not these. So I'm stuck with these until I happen to move again....and since I just moved in, that will be awhile. Sigh. REAL WOOD RULES!
