Advice on botched kitchen island top

Recently had input from Houzz members on kitchen island counter top (using quartz). Went with the curved end design, as shown here in two photos. I conveyed this information to the fabricator, requested that the overhang be between 10"-12", and was very clear that the end isn't too round. In fact, I sent the fabricator the same two photos and requested that the curved end be exactly as in the photos, with the furthest end (center) be no more than 1"-1.5" from both corners. The result, as shown, is hardly what was expected. The current overhang, with the rounded design, is 12". The fabricator offered to make the end less round, which will shorten the overhang to 8". However, to achieve a look similar to the two examples, the overhang will have to be shortened to 4"-5". The alternative, he offered, is to start over with an identical slab. However, the original slabs (total of 3) for island and perimeter was purchased from another company, which is now closed for a month or so, and any new slab will likely not be from the same stock. This will be installed in a high end home; your thoughts on how to remedy this bad outcome?

Options:

1) use the current rounded design, as shown here (12" overhang)

2) shave the end to make less rounded, reduce overhang to 8"

3) shave the end to make similar to the two examples, reduce overhang to 4"-5"

4) start over with new slab; different manufacturer
