Thanks for all of the reviews. I will make sure to change the swing of the bathroom doors and will most likely make the pantry door a single outward swinging door. As for the family room, it's 18 x 18'2 including fireplace and built-ins. I'd like it a little bigger but we're tweaking an original plan and trying to only make minor changes to keep the costs down. I think since it's an open plan, I'm ok with the size. I've measured the size against our current family room and I've seen pictures of the family room in a built house and it seems large enough. lyfia, I hear what you're saying about the location of the laundry room but it doesn't really bother me. As for the front porch, I think it's 7' but that is the one last thing I have to confirm. I agree that 7' should be the minimum. Yes, we'll change the french doors to sliders. That works much better. gobruno, I hear what you're saying about the bedroom with the small dormer as the only source of natural light. Unfortunately, in order to keep the elevation the same, I don't think there's much we can do. I'm going to look at pictures of larger dormers to see if we want to make them larger. There are skylights in the playroom but I think we're going to add a large dormer instead. Thank you all for the reviews!

Is the bench in front of the fireplace small enough to fit on either side of the fireplace under the window? If so, put it there and get a matching one so you have benches on both sides. If not, get two benches that fit. That lounge chair/ottoman combo to the right of the FP feels out of place and isn't part of the conversation area. I would find another home for it. This arrangement has the added benefit of not blocking one's view of the FP from across the room. I agree with continuing the jute rug and removing the hide rug from that area. I would add some throw pillows for the white chairs that have more of your sofa's chartreuse color in order to tie the two spaces together. If the bench is moving, you now have room for a small, low coffee table in front of the chairs. Lastly, the accent wall color you've chosen is lovely, but doesn't really coordinate with the wallpaper. I would have picked up one of the lighter greens from the wallpaper to pull it all together.

Hi! My first thought is to say that you shouldn't be to worried - you're demonstrating lovely taste and design choices in your sitting area! I'm kind of captivated by the geometric rug, to be honest. You might consider having one carpet cut and bound to the three sizes you need. That would unify things. Or you could do two of the three rugs with a bound carpet that's a low-key pattern and coordinate it with one rug that has more oomph. (I found having carpet bound wasn't nearly as expensive as I anticipated.) Would you want to pull your accent wall color into the rugs? Its golden range isn't too far from various natural fiber looks. You'll have to get someone who's a parent to comment on whether that kind of color is good under a baby's swing!

Paint the railing black White other...........Maple will NOT stain well. I would be wary of those lower cabinets as well. Even the best can look blotchy. You do not need match match. Soft black goes with anything and everything.............
