Which sink do you think would go best in our kitchen?
Comments (32)I think crazy fits me right now, lol. All this obsessing over details, that, like you said no one else will even care about.;-) I love ORB hardware and fixtures, and I like some ORB faucets too but am fairly particular about the finish on them. I love the stainless finish on the Danze but haven't seen the ORB irl to know if I'd like it as much, so I'm a little nervous to go that route. I'm sure any of it will be fine, and I just need to pick one and move on to the next detail. Thanks for the feedback on my kitchen. I am so excited to see it coming together and am grateful to you and all the others that helped so much in the early stages.:-) Beschenbach - The hardware is Amerock French Country. I have samples on the way from Knobs4less.com, and I'm hoping I like it as it's very inexpensive. I also found those and some others similar to it on Myknobs.com for great prices if you haven't tried that already....See MoreHelp! Best temp heating solution for our temp home
Comments (63)I think you have some good suggestions above regarding heat. Electrical heaters are very expensive. We had two that used dryer like outlets and they cost tons to use. We also went through many of the cheap electric heaters -- they only last so long before they stop functioning. We live in Southern Ontario, Canada. We have been re-building/expanding our house for close to 4 years. We have lived through all sort of horrible, freezing conditions. We have four kids. I have a long winter coat that gets lots of use inside our home. Having a shower is the worst. Don't forget that poly plastic can make a huge difference for pennies to make a wall more insulated. You can poly over tons, and block off a section of your home with poly as well. A few winters ago, we did rent two propane heaters. They were not that great at spreading heat around the home, and they were expensive too. I do hope you find out your old furnace works. I would certainly get a quote to see what that would cost to fix. The difference in fees to rent another heat source, or pay for electrical energy to heat might be more than the furnace repair. Good luck. I hope your winter is not an extreme one. Carol...See Morehelp: which way to extend our deck? which way looks best?
Comments (1)Difficult to make judgments from info you have provided because inches count. Can you create a lower deck extension over toward firepit area. Creating multi level deck? I would get some input from local deck builders/hot tub installers fir ideas especially given your exit conditions. Comments (2)I'd start by determining the proper size for the fan. Here are a few articles that provide sizing recommendations: Ceiling Fan Buying Guide Choosing the Right Ceiling Fan Size Ceiling Fan Size Guide - How to Measure and Size a Fan for Any Room What Size Ceiling Fan Do I Need for Each Room? Ceiling Fan Calculators My understanding is that fans should be 7 to 9 feet from the floor. That will limit choices to fans that will accept (long) downrods. It appears that remote controllers and receivers may be the most unreliable parts of a remote-controlled fan. Perhaps consider a fan that's controlled by a simple wall control. Given the white walls and ceilings, I think a white, fairly modern fan -- I'd disregard the "mountain theme" -- would look best and be the least obtrusive. It's likely to be big given the size of that room. -- amateur with two ceiling fans...See MoreM T
