help: which way to extend our deck? which way looks best?

We would like to extend our deck and add a deck drainage system to make room for a hot tub.

To one side we have a patio and fire pit with pavers that are only a few years old.

To the other side we have basement windows (walkout, so basement level with ground) and eventually a road and sidewalk, although this is mostly blocked by a berm and pine trees that have nearly grown together.

One option would be to extend the deck toward patio over the pavers to the edge of the house. But this would encroach on the fire pit. Not yes, if we could just move fire pit to the edge of the circle or add another large circle… or move the entire circle out.

The other option would be to extend the deck the opposite way toward the road. This may partially block the basement windows… we want to keep as much natural light in basement as we can. Not to mention, there is less privacy on that side of the yard, although in a couple years the trees and tall grass on the berm will be completely grown together. We could easily have a shade or other privacy blind in the mean time.

There is also a hybrid option where we extend the deck in both directions…. Just to the edge of the windows on each side.

Any other suggestions?
