Calacatta tile from Home Depot matches real slab perfectly!
Comments (37)Jacqueline5, thanks for posting the color. I thought it might be Revere Pewter. I was going to RP with my bathroom but thought it might read too dark, in my low light. So I was going to use it in a sitting room, but decided against it and used something else. I actually have a gallon on hand. I dislike the color I ended up using. I am thinking of using the gallon of RP I have to paint up a sample board, and see how it looks in there. The sitting room has a fair amount of west light. I don't know what's going on, but I keep seeing pink in my colors and I was afraid that the Revere Pewter would have a pink cast too. I'm glad to hear you say that it is olive. I love green and blues. Your counter is beautifully installed. Is it 2cm? It looks like it is at the sink. If it is they did a terrific outer edge. The edge must have been mitered, right? I see the section of the stone from where the counter was taken. I love it....See MoreCountertop thickness
Comments (7)I hope you don't mind 'before' and powder room pictures. Anyway, our old kitchen had 2cm granite counters on the island and butler pantry (laminate on perimeter.) When we renovated, we reused it in other areas including a powder room vanity. Although we chose 3cm for our new counters (kitchen and baths), I'll be honest that counter thickness isn't something I generally notice, and after reading this forum for a couple of years I notice alot of things in a kitchen! IMHO the look of the slabs trumps the thickness and yours sounds beautiful. (Is it also called Verde Esperanza?) 2cm on the old island: On the old butler pantry: Now reused for the PR vanity:...See MoreMarble slab backsplash- Good or Bad Idea?
Comments (9)Thanks for the info! Enzaenza, we plan on doing the MSI arctic white quartz which looks like pure white from caesarstone as our countertops. We're either going to do the porcelain slab in statuario for the backsplash or white subway. I am one of those people who's still not sick of the white subway look but I don't think it's a great match with the Arctic white quartz. I think i'd need a more patterned counter for that like one of the faux marble quartzes....See MoreNeolith Calacatta slab
Comments (119)Has anyone from this post installed Neolith slab countertops in the north NJ area? I recently reached out to the local Neolith distributor in my area, HG Stones, to get a quote on replacing our current granite countertops (35 sq. ft) and backsplash (32 sq. ft). HG Stones referred to me to one of their local partners to coordinate an estimate/fabrication/install. For 12mm polished Estatuario countertop with mitered edge and 6mm backsplash I was quoted just over $11k for the job; does this seem about right to you (~$167 / sq ft, installed)? Also, can I be confident that the partner they referred me to is skilled in Neolith fabrication/installation or should I go back and try to work with HG Stones, the local Neolith distributor in my area (per Neotlith's website), directly? My last question: Neolith appears to have a 20mm thickness slab product out now. Has anyone see or had this thickness installed? How's it hold up/compare to the 12mm version?...See MoreRelated Professionals
