Using antique crystal door knobs as cabinet knobs?
Comments (9)Amanda, it all depends on the kind of spindle the knobs use. If it's the kind with screw threads on all 4 sides of the square shaft, you can probably cut it down with a hacksaw and use a large nut tightened on the back side, inside the door. You'd need to enlarge the knob hole in the cab with a drill. But if they're the kind with square spindles where the knob stays on with a screw through little holes on the shaft, I'm not sure how you'd do it. The knobs need to be set on the shaft with their set screws to stay put; unless you use some kind of super glue they won't stay on a simple dowel. Hmm. Photos?...See MoreEmergency! Comments (11)I’d spend your time de-cluttering before your guests arrive, rather than rushing to get knobs replaced for them. They won’t notice the knobs in all that stuff. Get your knobs after shopping carefully and choosing ones you like. You’ll have to live with them for a while, and, with the number you need, it won’t be cheap, so again, don’t rush the decision. Edited to add: OP removed the photos of the rest of her kitchen, which showed quite a lot of clutter on every surface, which was what had prompted my reply about de-cluttering....See MoreKitchen Cabinet Hardware - Silver or Gold? Pulls or Knobs?
Comments (1)I think it depends on the rest of the spaces and the lighting as to what color pulls and knobs.I prefer pulls everywhere and in proportion to the cabinets I never like 2 knobs or pulls on drawers and what do you have the wings on either side of the over hang.? What is the floor going to be ?IMO pulls are one of the last choices to make along with wall color and backsplash..Those choices should be made after making sure all lighting is LED in 4000K. As for timeless I think more important is what you love the next guy can change the pulls and knobs to whatever they love....See MoreHelp with backsplash and Kitchen cabinets knobs drowning in Grey
