Oh, I would love to get my hands on that house! Just a little de cluttering as you mentioned. Lighten it up a litte, take away window treatments. Love that brick patio, It looks so nestled in the back.

Since we're sharing houses, here's one that just went on the market. I think they totally ruined the inside. But I do love the pool they put in. It's inland, but has a great view west to the ocean. (and our little house is Nothing like this one in size or price!)

I like it except for the dead birds on the living room wall and that step up to the bathtub that will kill someone.

@IdaClaire, that's a great example of a nicely decorated traditional house. @1929Spanish-GW, wow, they kind of sucked the character out of the interior of that house, didn't they?

I like both homes. But I think funnily, they are both extremes. One is a bit dated and frou frou. The other is totally Tarek & Christina. Both could learn from the other.

When they were together, they were probably 15-20 minutes from me. Now I think she’s in Newport Beach - not sure where he is. I saw her in Laguna once. I didn’t care.

The brick on this house has always been painted. It looks a bit green in the photo, but it's a soft gray. Here is the street view, which better shows how it sits on the corner lot.

I don't think I care for the layout of the kitchen; doesn't feel very efficient to me. And I don't like the cooktop. But I do like how each room has a cozy feel. It's a decently sized house but doesn't come off as cavernous by any means.

Now I'm going to check out the other house. :)

I would love that Spanish style home, but with a much more traditional, even slightly vintage look to the interior. It's pretty inside, but lacks soul. The exterior is gorgeous though.

I find the overuse of patterns in the first one a bit contrived. Each room has a small pattern and/or medium/large pattern and always carrying one colour through each of the patterns.

One or two of the rooms I would have admired how it was pulled together for example, the first living room and the dining room. But then it just got to be too much, too contrived, too "look, Look, I know how to use and put together patterns". And the colours in the kitchen seemed to just miss.

But I do like the outside.

Spanish - Too funny, I drove by the house you posted earlier today. I had planned to look it up when I got home but was distracted. Love the feel of the neighborhood but a little too close to the park for me.

Jill - they have been working on that house forever. There are a several larger old homes in the area that have - I fear - been ruined inside.

I walk by this house every day. It's been under construction for nearly 2 years. It finally came on the market last week. I've been dying to see what the inside looks like. I could live here.

Spanish, You are so right, the inside was very disappointing. I toured another spanish style home just up the street from this one several years back. Liked the interior so much better. It kept with the feel of home rather than trying to be trendy. Dislike all the gray, not appropriate for this home at all. I did like the photos of the backyard though. Will be interested to see how it sells. nice piece of property.

Love the Capistrano Beach house. My in-laws have close friends that live near this house, always liked the area.

Mr Jinx was involved in the building of this house. I got lost twice in it, I’m not kidding.

They didn’t post pictures of the commercial catering kitchen on one floor. It was outfitted exactly as a restaurant would be, all stainless steel and commercial size equipment. They also left out one of the powder rooms — with an entire authentic, antique wagon in it.

The bar area (saloon) has a mural with scenes from “Lonesome Dove”.

Part of the entry floor was glass, looking down into the wine cellar. I never liked walking on it.

The spa room walls have fossils and fine gems embedded in the stones.

Now I'm curious who owned the Nueces Trail mansion. All I could find online was mention of a Texas oilman and philanthropist. I know a few of those. ;)

Oh, and the castle I linked to above was the perfect example of how lots of money can't buy good taste. There were numerous rooms in that place that were completely empty. I guess trying to furnish and decorate nearly 20,000 square feet becomes a bore.

Ida, sadly, he (original owner) passed from cancer just a few months after they moved in. You probably have heard of his company — they sold O&G equipment. They also had a 13,000 sq ft vacation ranch/home west of me. We went to their huge housewarming gala, women in ball gowns ... and I accidentally got stuck in the “hers” pool bathroom. I was banging on the door, but everyone was listening to the live band around the pool. Finally Mr Jinx came looking for me and they got the door open. The knob was broken. 😂

They’d hired a fairly well known country band to play (I’m not into country, so forget who it was), and they’d just started their loud set. I seriously thought of wrapping my hand and busting through the glass on the door. I kept thinking, this is all brand new!! Why is the knob not working! Why did this have to happen when *I* used it!! Mr Jinx was cracking up and not surprised. 😄

ETA: Hard to see in photo, but that’s a waterfall just to the left, between the columns. The pool area is absolutely stunning. Like a resort. And the view!
