Corona! Corona! Corona!

Found a Corona pulled pork recipe for dinner.

Corona pulled pork with Home grown Royal Corona beans, Washed down with Corona beer.

Yes, forsythia is blooming in the garden. Good days are coming!

According to folk medicine: Forsythia is used for swelling of small air passages in the lung (bronchiolitis),tonsillitis, sore throat, fever, vomiting, ----------- .

Interesting.

I love the profuse blooms and light yellow of my moonbeam, but my plants always lay over. My neighbors and those in your pictures are all upright. I had a plant in Seattle that was in dry sandy soil and received little to no care. It grew just fine but always fell over onto the sidewalk even though the foliage was brisk and full. We live near the mountains now, where the rain is heavy and saturating at times and frosts can be heavy well into May. The plant is in sandy loam and, like the first one, in hot afternoon sun. It receives more water and care than the other, but I can see no difference in performance. It too blooms beautifully but lays down on the sidewalk. I don't like the appearance when flowers are staked. What's your secret??

My DH loves liver and onions - he eats it at a local restaurant, LOL. I don't like it at all, and I don't want the smell in the house. He also loves steak and kidney pie. After years of making this for his birthday, I put my foot down, and now I make steak and mushroom pie. He misses the kidney, but too bad - it makes me gag as I cook it. He loves sausage of all kinds, and I'm happy to cook and eat that on occasion, but I usually have a back up meal in the freezer for me.

Glenda, sorry I haven't been on the computer much the last two days. Yesterday I played golf and didn't get home until 3:30. I was a bit tired because I couldn't get to sleep the night before and I had to go out to play bridge at 6:30. Today was my luncheon group, after which I ran some errands. I can't beat 10662 .58 but I can match it! After you told me about the scoring thing, I began writing them down. Now I'm really sorry I didn't know about the scoring and was only paying attention to the time because I doubt I'll ever match the .57. We'll see. Lord only knows I spend as much time as you on it if not more! I am an addictive compulsive kind of person. Get me started on one of these games and I'm done for.

I tried a calendula leaf on different occasions because I had seen it listed in books as a "pot herb," but I found the leaves somewhat unpleasant. I didn't have any reaction, so I don't think they're toxic, but I won't be eating more. To people above, yes broccoli leaves are edible, similar to but more fibrous than collards or kale.

Interesting timing for sure. For me they always bring memories of the branches Mom would force into early indoor bloom on those gloomy late winter days...

And that meal works for me from beginning to end. Very nice.
