Kitchen backsplash ideas / floor stain
Comments (5)Thanks for all of the ideas everyone! We held off on making a decision until our floors were finalized. We ended up going with a 50/50 English Chestnut/Gray mix. There's only a hint of gray that shows through, but we like the color against the cabinets. Earlier this week we picked up some more tile samples and also painted a part of our wall/backsplash area with some leftover blue paint we had: A white with a hint of gray Deeper blue: shade or two lighter than the blue paint. Comes in 3x6 as well, which we'd prefer over the larger format in the photos Lighter blue White Subway (matte, though we'd probably look into glossy) Gray: neither of us are in love with this shade of gray, but put it in the photo anyway Tile board contains the same larger format deeper blue tile sample, along with some different shades of gray and white. All of these come in standard 3x6 as well I like the deeper blue, though my husband is unsure if it. Any new thoughts?...See MoreHelp! Kitchen Backsplash ideas for leathered Granite counter??
Comments (5)i dont' think i would do white... very difficult to get right with the cabs...if u can find the right shade and u like it, go for it... maybe a very soft shade of blue to pull in your cabs... but of course it has to be in the same tone as the cabs... a matte tile or satin - light sheen. i would not do a gloss/glass tile i hesitate to say gray b/c its been done to death.... maybe a gray/blue? i do like a 6x6 tile... just to get away from a subway... whatever u choose, have grout to match as close as u can, so the b/s just sits in the background. bring home lots a samples to see in your space with your lights and natural light....See MoreKitchen backsplash ideas?

Comments (0)We have a family cottage on a lake that we're getting ready to rent and would like a DIY backsplash idea for over sink area--possibly peel and stick tiles. Has anyone used these and can you recommend a certain brand? The cabinets are Espresso and countertop is formica, a light beige with specs of gray. The walls will be painted a light gray. The family is on a strict budget, therefore we're trying to make minor updates before placing on rental market. Thanks in advance for your help....See MoreAglitter
