Advice needed...NOISY, inconsiderate neighbors next door.
Comments (50)It's nothing you can do about kids playing outside in daytime hours. It's legal so let that go. The one foot of your property on the other side of the fence? If you are that worried about damage to that strip then move your fence. You can't expect kids to stop playing one foot from their side of the fence. It's unreasonable. You can make it a taller fence so you're neighbor can't lean on it. Now the noise at night? That you can do something about. There are phone apps that show noise decibles. Record it with a video of the decible reading. First, be a decent person and go to the neighbor and say, hey, your music, banging, etc is easily audible at midnight and i need to wake up in the morning. Can you please lower it at night? If they don't, keep recording and notify the landlord. A landlord won't want a neighbor that causes noise complaints especially if you notify said landlord that the next step is small claims against *him* about his tenants behavior. They won't renew the lease. Now, i am not going to automatically assume they are low income weed smokers as someone else did here. That's jerk assumptions. Some people just grow up in louder cultures than others. However, renters tend to move on and worst come to worst you only have a year or two of it....See MoreDeveloper of lot next door wants to cut down tree on our property
Comments (67)Hopefully the tree is still standing and the developer has not damaged any roots yet. In most states, a landowner may trim any branches or roots that grow across the property line, but they can only cut up to the property line. In addition, they can be held liable if the trimming causes the death of the tree or creates a situation where the tree is so weakened that it may fall and cause damage to any dwellings on the property of the tree's owner. If the tree is still standing then immediately contact your insurance agent and notify them what is happening, or about to happen, to the tree. The insurance company will likely send them a letter informing them that they will be held liable for any damage to your property should the tree fall on your property and damage your house or cars. Now you know why they are offering to cut the tree down, once it's cut down they no longer have any liability from a fallen tree....See MoreWhat is going on with the house next door?
Comments (11)One of the tenants was a student, but I'm not sure about the others. It is plausible, because it is never advertised as for rent either. Perhaps it is only available to certain populations. The "realtor" listed on Realtor.com is a construction company. And not one I have heard of, nor does it service our area, but rural communities about 30 miles west. Maybe this house was an experiment for them that didn't turn out for them....See MoreSomething I saw on Next Door
Comments (25)I think some kids are just wired to do interesting creative things like this, homeschooled or not. On our street there are several kids I could see doing this, even in middle school. One 6th grader set up an art sale of her work to raise money for charity. They are all in regular school. Sadly, it would have probably never occurred to my children to do something like that. Both of mine are more action-oriented in their free time. Kids are all wired differently. I will say, where we live, kids generally don’t pick on others because of differing interests. They may not be best buds...but I think the character education and anti-bullying programs are starting to have an effect. 😊...See Moresocks
