I agree with other posters that you are on the right track. We have similar colors in our kitchen (off white cabinets, medium tone wood floor, light granite - our's is called "cafe creme"). A busy pattern of tile or a different natural stone will compete with your granite, and look distracting. We ended up with a subway tile, that is handmade with a "crackle" finish. The color is sort of an off-white with some tan. There is a subtle color variation - so it doesn't look like a flat color; but there isn't enough pattern to compete with the granite. (Not sure I'm explaining it well). I think you just have to try different samples in your space - next to the granite, walls, etc.. in your light, to see what looks good. Sorry I have not been successful at trying to post photos, or I'd show you a pic. Anyway, good luck! You will figure it out. Just try a few different shades to see what works.

Here are photos of the rest of the house. I'm not proud of the quality of the images, but they get the point across, I hope. The lower walls is Zolotone with pink, two shades of grey, and off white. The trim is painted pink and off-white. The blind on the right is the fourth wall of the dining room, not visible in prior image - a built-in bookcase full of photography books, hidden behind a blind to protect them from the UV rays. (Yikes, nothing like a closeup image to show how dirty and worn things are.) The Dining Room is connected to the Kitchen through a single door, with very little visual connection. Bathroom, 5x7 feet: Office #1, 10x10 feet, aka Library, aka Green Room. Panorama showing all four walls makes it very distorted, but gives a sense of what the room is like. Office #2, also 10x10 feet. The only hall: The old Kitchen, looking along the north wall to the west wall. (I can't wait until this kitchen is GONE!) We have removed the window to the left of the fridge, as the little table at that window was dead space that we never used.

After more thought, the 4x12 is going to look weird. It will only be 4 tiles high behind the main counter. And the long stretch under the bar is only 5.5 inches tall so it will have one tile and a sliver of a tile under the bar. I really wish I could find something that is 2.5x6, 3x8, 3x10 in a color similar to the MSI Dove Gray. The MSI Dove Gray has a silvery tone to it that goes best with the Colonial White granite counters. I found a 2x10 tile that is gray (SOCI Crafted Brick Gray which is apparently new). I like the size, the crackle finish, and the uneven handcrafted look to it but the gray is more of a putty color. It doesn't have the silvery color that the Dove Gray has. The SOCI Crafted Brick Gray is apparently new so I can't find any pictures or displays at showrooms of it up on a wall to see how it looks installed. But, the Colonial White granite has some silver shimmer scattered throughout it that I think goes better with the Dove Gray. So, does anyone know of a silvery gray tile in a 2x6-10 or 2.5x6-10 or 3x8-10?? Something other than the 3x6 size that is everywhere. A little bit shorter and wider than the standard 3x6. Is there any way you can get a sample piece of the Kohler farm sink just to compare that sample to the color of your sink...to see if it’s really gray or a trick of the lighting? I have the Kohler in my kitchen and it’s a very nice white. It’s whiter than my creamy cabinets but I don’t mind layered whites. It’s still two whites. If your sink is truly gray, I would change it. But that’s just me.
