Just got back from voting
Comments (7)In WV our polling places opened at 6:30 a.m.; DH and I were there by 7:20 and didn't have to wait at all. However, there were only three voting machines, so I imagine--hope, even--that by this evening there may be a wait. The touch screen made it very simple; the instructions were clear, and there were volunteers to answer questions or help. My only question was "Could the print on the Levy question be any smaller?" The volunteer actually had one of those magnifying sheets that I laid over the screen. Voila! Suddenly, I could see it! Oh well, just another facet of getting older and declining "close-up" vision! At least, I was able to exercise my right to vote!...See MoreJust got back from vacation....
Comments (6)I live down on the coastal bend, and it has been raining all around us, but our year total for the airport, just down the road from me, is only .49" and that was back in mid-March. I was in Chappell Hill over the weekend, and they got a very nice rain. Nothing in the rain gauge for us though. Not even a drop!...See MoreI just got back from the best wedding!
Comments (12)Sounds like you had a great day!! And you have beautifully described it at length. I can imagine how you would have felt being there because I too have attended a fabulous wedding reception in a castle wedding venue in Toronto. If I remember correctly, Le Jardin is their name. I felt the whole look and settings of the hall as a fairytale. The settings were lovely and the food served was mouth watering. Everyone at the wedding raved about the settings and overall ambience of the night. We all had so much fun. It was really a magical, memorable night!...See MoreI just got back from Buffy's owners house.....
Comments (30)I want to add one additional comment. When you ask Larry if you can keep Buffy, let him know Buffy can visit anytime he wants to see her. It's hard to say how Larry feels about the dog without knowing him. He may be very attached but not have the time or money. My guess is though, based on the matted hair, that he is not a very responsible owner. If that is the case he will be more than willing to give up the dog. If he does give you the dog I would write up adoption papers and have him sign them. Just something that says he is relinqueshing his ownership to you. You can make something up to Larry about needing proof of ownership for pet insurance. Good luck and keep us informed. Donna P.S. You can also tell Larry when Buffy comes home that she will be needing follow up vet care. If Larry thinks the vet bills will start adding up he will be more willing to give Buffy to you....See More
