Grout and installation tips for matte/frosted glass tile?
Comments (11)There is no need nor desire to seal glass tile of any sort. Do use a NON sanded grout if using a cement based grout. Better yet, use Fusion Pro or Flexcolor CQ. While both are sanded, they are painted sand and not the scratchy angular sand found in cement based grouts. Do not use Spectralock with frosted glass as you can't wipe the residue away on frosted glass....See Morefrosted or rain glass on shower
Comments (32)sure thing. so i went back to the shower door place and pressed them on what other samples they had. i was shown "stipolite". kinda liked it as far as the obscurity goes, but it's too greenish for me. i asked if they had a low iron stipolite and he said no. anyway, when i got home he called and said he found something called "krystal serenity". so i went back and it seems perfect. its low iron, and was told it was real easy to clean since it didnt have all the grooves of the "rain glass" or "bubble" or"monumental". its a real simple look. he's coming on mon. to measure. BUT...now that the shower is finally grouted im actually considering the clear again. guess i wont know my final decision until i actually order it. One thing the guy told me that got me thinking: when my son is in the shower, the glass will fog up anyway! lol i didnt think of that. then i'm thinking about all the above posts about getting pretty pump containers for the soap and shampoo or that dispenser that sue b wrote about. and yes, i'll have to get a white loofa. really, though, i still haven't come to a firm decision. if any one out there has seen the krystal serenity, and has an opinion, please let me know. thanks...See MoreFrosted glass issue
Comments (2)Gary, Here are a few different remedies you can try. Nail Polish remover first. Don't get any of these products on the stained section of the door. Xylene or acetone next if the nail polish remover doesn't work. These chemicals are very dangerous. Read their instructions and use with gloves and eye protection. A method I have used is to take a flat scraper and drape the edge with cotton material like a t-shirt material. Soak the outer most edge of the clothe and lay in on the stain you got on the glass and move it up and down to start to dillute the stain. Repeat until all the stain is off the glass. As with all removal techniques, try a small test area first. Let us know how you make out. The PorchGuy Here is a link that might be useful: My Album...See MoreWood stain on frosted glass
Comments (3)Not all frosted glass is the same. Some is sand blasted or acid etched. This type can be cleaned with MEK, Lacquer thiner, Acetone, etc. followed by any window cleaner without any damage. The other type of frosting is sprayed on. A translucent white paint. Cleaning this type with solvents will remove it. Mineral spirits will not work after the stain is dry. You will need one of the stronger solvents....See MoreMomof5x
