When this whole thread started, the one thing I was told is that the sofa had to be centered. I've hung my big picture based on that.
What if the chair is angled with the round table between the chair and sofa? Will that visually ease the congestion?

This is the chair I'm currently working around. The chair arms are only 17" high. The back is 38" tall (I think).
This chair will either be changed out or re-upholstered.

Ok, so the today answer is stop looking for an end table. I can do that.

It is the depth of the chair that you can see on the layout....you have to realize the suggestions have not come from a actual designer that took the time to do a layout...this room is not large enough to center sofa And properly add the chair to create the L configuration...move the furniture and you will see this is the way to go....I can help add the art and balance out the space. What happened to the original furniture you had in this room? The size was A much better fit.

lol. It got relegated to the downstairs, when keeping the pink couch became more important and the picture over the couch became my possession.
I want to make this furniture work. I love this room with the furniture and art in it.
Movinh the couch and therefore the picture means another nail in the wall. We don't do that lightly at our house. ;)

Totally understand..I do think that even with the art moved over to center sofa the original nail hole will be covered...but seems it would be a easy fix..a tiny bit of putty and a touch up of the paint with a Qtip!😉😁..I love the vintage style you are going for! The paper in the niches should be removed..a bit too DIY for your pretty space...I would paint the interior with the soft gray blue pulled from your floral art over the sofa....

Before adding anything else to the room let’s get the layout perfect...add only the things you love..and build from there...

Once things are moved I can work on your gallery.

Yes about the gold. It's not as dark as it appears in photos though.

When you move sofa down you may be able to put table in that corner with the light instead of next to chair...see when you move things around.

Backs of niches painted. Behr Offshore Mist. Found it in the grays section of the paint chips. This was either the lightest, or next to it.
Looks amazing in the room with the painting and looks good with my wall color.

Yes. Power outlets. Each niche has one, as well as a light in the top with a light switch.

Yeah, it's bluer than I thought it would be. Paint chips lie... that's just one coat. Painted it late last night. I'll do the next coat in the day light.

I'm sure I'm getting ahead of myself, but I need some piano and sheet music storage for this room. I'm thinking about either of these caninets as an entry table/cabinet.
The table I currently have measures 28" wide, 12" deep. 12" is how deep the column is.
The red cabinet is my preferred. I'd replace the glass with mirror and paint the cabinet. Thoughts?

Lisa do you have any black paint you could add to it to help tone down the blue? if you go back to the paint store and let them know you want it to be more gray they will add black to it for you.

Ok. Back of niches painted again with Behr Offshore Mist and 20 drops of black.
The first picture is meant to show you the decided difference between the original and with back added. We're south facing. I'm afraid sunlight is not helping. I can se a definite difference.
I've got a slug of touch up to do with the white paint, then I'll get the piano moved. Pictures coming later today.

I'm only allowed 6 pictures at a time. Here's the coffee table and lamp. The coffee table is oval and quite narrow. I was worried about the piano in this positon with the cpffee table, but there actually appears to be more room around the table with this arrangement.

Home Interiors with Ease, the piano finally got moved! Here are the pictures of the new arrangement. Forgive the stuff in the picture... everywhere. This arrangement eliminates A LOT of display space for treasures. I'm at a loss on that part.
We haven't brought our Christus back in yet, but display items are in the upper niche.
Am I just not going to use the other three niches at all?...
Since the last time we visited, I was gifted a coffee table, end table and lamp with small glass table incorporated in the lamp. There was noodle of room between the chair and sofa and the floor lamp so I put the end table there as you suggested. The original end table I had went into another room. I can bring it back.
I have two jade vases that must come back into the room. Can you help me with placement of decorative items. Do you want a picture of them all together that you can pick and choose from, or do you want me to place them and then you will help me tweak?

Also, centering the piano in the niche did not leave room for the floor lamp, so it has left the room too.

The new floor lamp with the incorporated table is 16" at the table. Without a lamp at the end of this table, it was a dark corner. What do you think of putting this floor lamp next to the couch. It's actually in front of the wall next to the couch, but doesn't protrude past the couch.
Is that dumb?

By way of explanation, my husband lived in Taiwan for 2 years. That's where the Jade vases came from and that's him in the photo in the elephant frame.

These two pictures are items I would really like to go in the room, spread between coffee table, end table and piano.
Elephants are an Asian thing, so preference go to all things elephant (I need to change out the picture that's in the dark frame with the elephants as frame legs.
Also, preference goes to photo of my family and darling daughter.
That urn is way cool too. Any way we can incorporate it?
