Did you go ?! I went to the Temecula one at 8 on the dot . They had been open since 730 and it was quite a line ! Fast though! I chose love at first sight since I had the others they were offering which were great current choices . I also got a trunkful of plants! I’m obsessed with ablution so I got a yellow one, two ground upright fuschia , a penstemon , cransebill , ivy geraniums, lisianthus snd pink salvia all for only 100. I would have had more if I could have gotten away with it ! My husband warned me to behave and mentioned some kinda budget on the way out . 😂

Yes, when i got there they only had celestial night and a red rose, I went with CN and 3 Itoh peonies, beverly sails iris, basil and fennel, and a bag of compost, rose planting mix soil, and something else. I will be going back today hopefully its less crowded hehe..

I saw their itoh peonies , they are going to be so beautiful!! Do you get enough winter chill for them to return ? There was a beautiful peony and iris farm in Tennessee I loved visiting. Find anything good today ?

I did want to mention , I went back to see the rose we were discussing. Darn it I forgot it’s name . But I went back and the buds seemed to have gotten stuck in time . Balling ? Something else ? It was so sad to see . I fully expected to see them open .

Yes, the Itoh peonies will grow in SoCal, Im gonna try them in a shaded area that gets some sun. That is what the guy at Armstrongs recommended tho my research Ive done says full sun. I came across a website that had tricks to create the "winter chill"

"Gagan’s tip on how to do this: Fill a 9-by-13-by-3 cake pan with water and freeze it. Remove the ice block from the pan and put it over the peony. Refill and freeze the pan. When the ice on the peony melts, replace it with another block of ice."

The rose we were discussing is Hermosa... I wonder if those buds experienced some frost.
