I don't have this model, but am considering a Fisher Paykel single door counter depth model due to a wall near the refrigerator. Today I visited an appliance dealer to see Fisher Paykel and saw a CD FD model and CD swing door model (both unplugged). The finish is smooth stainless, on my model the handles are a tad unusual but work, the insides seemed spacious, can't comment on the light. It so happens that three people I know (including an appliance dealer) have Fisher Paykel for similar reasons and all spoke pretty well of them: no problem with water on fridge or ice (one online complaint about ice); variable speed compressor they found to not be overly noisy and lighting was good. Interior spacious enough in fridge and freezer. I'm going to give Fisher Paykel a try. I know the company has been purchased of late, but I'm buying now. Service is available in my area, and install specs are easy compare to what I considered prior. Customer service answers the phone and are polite and helpful. Hope this helps you in some way.

I am NOT saying that this is a bad thing, but F&P has been in increasing financial difficulty over the last few years. Chinese appliance giant Haier, who had a 20% stake in F&P since the 2009 downturn, just won majority control of F&P with the next four largest shareholders agreeing to sell their stake to Haier. This gives Haier 51.6% of F&P. It remains to be seen what effect this will have long-term on F&P's manufacturing and quality control. We have had a counter depth Bosch French door for about two months now. Ice maker, but no water dispenser. We like it. I am consistently impressed by how much food we can fit in the refrigerator section, and consistently disappointed in the size of the freezer section. We had a full size model before, although it was an older, smaller model. I had planned to get a separate freezer in the basement anyway, but that is definitely a necessity now, because I like to stock up on frozen foods. But space in the refrigerator section, even though there are fewer cubic feet, has not been a problem at all.

Stay away from the Fisher Paykel quad door fridge! If I don't keep all my food on the bottom shelf they go moldy (YES moldy) in very little time. Technician has been out and of course can't see what is wrong. What is wrong is that their Active Smart technology is pretty dumb indeed. I believe the cold air is not distributed properly due to poor design of cold air outlets. I keep highly perishable foods upstairs in a bar fridge! That's insane after what I paid for the FP. Stay away is my advice.
