Trim Kit from Fisher Paykel (refrigerator)
Comments (9)yolande 1951 and all, The trim kit is for the 20.1 cu ft refrigerator. My kitchen designer had to call Australia twice to get the correct information on which kit was the one for my refrigerator and to discuss the measurements of the trim in regard to surrounding cabs, but we finally have the correct information are are proceeding with kitchen design to accomadate the trim around the refrigerator. This trim is like the picture suggests, it gives the refrigerator a built-in look. A separate kit (joiner kit) will join two of the F&P refrigerators together, then you must use the surround trim kit to complete the look. For the french door that I have ordered, I don't need the joiner kit. It will be a couple of months until we're ready for installation. Keep your fingers crossed that the guy my KD talked to knew his stuff. I'll give my report when we get to that point because I know this is a great solution for those who want the built in look without the added expense....See MoreFisher Paykel Frig - opinions before delivery
Comments (8)I've never seen a manufacturer that gets so many love/hate reviews as F&P - Australia included. After a lot of searching here and at Epinion Reviews (vacillated a lot) I took the big jump and have gotten the fridge, single oven, DDD (Double DishDrawer), and hood. I suspect that some of the very negative reviews may be due to "improper" installation or maintenance. I say "improper" because I wouldn't hedge at all on any of the specified clearances, leveling, etc. I'd also check that your installer is familiar with the product; from your description the company probably is. The fridge (same model as yours with the curved door) has been operational for 2 1/2 months (and the oven for a week). It's not loud although some of the noises are rather different - apparently a kind of creaking from panel contraction/expansion? When it was first moved into the kitchen niche I noticed that it was slightly louder than when it was in open space in the living room. Since then, I don't even hear the fridge. The "foot" on the front non-hinge side had to to be cranked down a little with pliers; hand tightening didn't do it for me. The doors are hard to open and I'd pull the fridge forward if the "foot" wasn't set well. Apparently the door seal is too good in one sense. I couldn't figure out what the function of the metal rack was. Turns out to be a wine rack that slides into one of the shelves (and not in the door panel). I've had limited usage in this time (gotta buy some induction cookware) but it's so far, so good....See MoreFisher & Paykel French door refrigerator RF201ADUX
Comments (1)Really? No one has this refrigerator?...See MoreRefrigerator - Fisher Paykel, Blomberg, Summit...?
Comments (5)What's wrong with them ??? FP is new to the fridge business, the parent was sold went bankrupt in new Zeland, and they have a small presence in the USA, which means they sell about eight fridges a year. Blomberg is relatively new to the USA and has nit really gained any traction here. Their fridges are fairly small in size - which caters to a very small demographic. So, they sell about eight fridges a year. Summit caters to the commercial market where you call up, order what meets your needs , and have it installed. There's no fancy showroom, interactive you tubing showing the fancy hinges or spill proof racks, and the sales people aren't programmed to kiss ()/$(/$)$:)&. What's this mean for you? These brands don't have a lot of dealers and even fewer that stock displays because they are not big volume products. So, you're left to order one and roll the dice....See Morermtdoug
