Cleaning Brazilian Cherry Floors
Comments (7)When I first cleaned my Brazilian Teak floor, I also had hazing and streaking. I did some research and found that it is best not to use any type of cleaner but simply use a damp mop from a bucket of warm water with just a few drops of dish soap mixed in. You will also have to dry the floor with a large towel if there is even a little bit of water left on the floor after mopping (or you will have streaks). Microfiber mops are good for small areas or spots, but is way too much work for an entire floor (it tends to drag). Also a cotton rag floor mop (like the janitors use) covers a much larger area much quicker. I don't have to mop the entire floor every time. I vacuum everywhere to pick up the dirt and dog hair and only mop the traffic areas or those areas with spots. You will get this routine down after a while and it won't be such a chore....See MoreHelp on cherry cabinet stain color on Brazilian walnut floor
Comments (4)I love the color on the smallest door because it gives some contrast between the floor and cabs, and will also provide a bridge between dark floor and light trim so THAT contrast will not seem so stark. BTW, I love the concept of woods not all being match-y match-y but instead complementing each other and provide tone and depth. Can't wait to see it when it is all done!...See MoreKitchen Cabinet Paint color for Brazilian Cherry Floor
Comments (14)Good question:), recently, we got all the walls painted white as we wanted the house to be bright. We did not think much about each detail then. If we start thinking of kitchen walls, we would have to consider living room walls too as it is an open concept floor plan and it would become a bigger project of painting walls that we just undertook. So I thought we could start with just the kitchen and do the cabinet paint and other hardware changes that have been overdue....See MoreBrazilian cherry wood floors transition to kitchen tile
Comments (9)focus on changing backsplash and new pendants over the island. If you can pry off the 6" molding as you pass to dining room that would be good...otherwise paint it same as the wall color to blend better. I would do these things then re-evaluate. If the kitchen is truly in the center of the first floor as it appears..... it would be nice to have seating at the island as this is your HUB ..I think. this would mean removal of the back cabinets and get a new top that provides overhang and add stools....or however the island can be reconfigured dependent on dimensions there....seems like a big space to have missed the seating element. here are some seriously modern pendants. yours are kind of "party pom poms " or something... not really the right scale or the the right style either....See MoreDesign Girl
