Have you looked at Lee Industries? They make a slip-covered product called Coveralls. Their frames are 8-way hand-tied. An independent retailer in my city sells their line. Did you or anyone else ever buy the manchester sofa from ballard designs? I'm also considering the apartment size one but am concerned about comfort and quality. i wish i could sit on it in person. thoughts, anyone? perhaps an alternative from a retailer that has stores in my area (south florida)? thanks. Adding a few more pictures: I am changing everything but the carpets, eat in kitchen table and media cabinet. I really need help with sofa (am torn between two sofas corner sofa or wedge sofa both at ballard designs and color (natural linen maybe?) and wall color (ivory was vetoed) our adjoining wall color is sherwin williams wool skein and a morning room that is yellow. I already have curtains picked out, jcpenney cindy crawford trivoli in slate. I am getting my carpet in 8x10 from ballard designs the catherine rug for under the table in the eat in. So, my colors are essentially maples, beige, caramels, grays and muted blues. Here is another thought for you. The lower priced furniture of today is not built at all well compared to the furniture of yesterday. Consider visiting your local thriftshop or Craigslist to get an older sofa that is built well for a very low price. You can try them out for comfort in person. Then have a professional reupholster it, or do it yourself. You can replace the old foam and batting if it's not in good shape, and you'll end up with an essentially new sofa. Or if it's in great shape, sew or buy a slipcover (there are lots of slipcovers on eBay). That makes good sense from a financial, practical, and ecological sense.
