Living Room/Dining Room HELP
Comments (22)That tv corner is awkward. Can you get high, corner piece, that is light and airy, and more contemporary. Something you can put the tv on, and the tv could have a cabinet underneath, and maybe a couple of shelves above. I do think that it should white, and modern . The corner looks bottom heavy, and white or some other light color that is close to the wall color would look much better. The windows look nice and clean, and let the natural light in. At most i might put a mesh shade in the a color close to the wall color, or something in a natural bamboo look. I can't see what is on the leather chairs, but they could use a pillow, maybe in bright mongolian lamb, ( they have many on this website for sale ), but I would keep the backgrounds of the room, which means basically, the floor and walls ( which forms an envelope ), and bring in color on the pillows, or throw, and art work that is either black and white photography, or high color art work, that shows up somewhat solid. Nothing faded, or feminine. The room has good bones, and it needs strength....See MoreHelp! Dining room help open concept no idea what to do with floor plan
Comments (7)I feel like this is a family room type look. But you can use as dining room if that works better for you Many will ask for more pictures and a floor plan. So if you can post those. But I guess to answer your question, if you do end up using this as a dining room: There’s not much room for much so a rug, table, chairs, maybe a bench on one side, what’s your style? Maybe wallpaper on the walls....See MoreSpanish dining room help
Comments (99)yes, there are diff types of tile. (if you google image search spanish tiles inside home" or interior terra cotta tiles", you see lots of ideas) (Do you have a spanish style home w/the wrought iron staircase design you could copy? you can easily do the color tiles on the risers of your stairs you may be able to find somehting like these in porcelain. the Saltillo tiles you find for cheap are made in mexico. they don't have to be uneven, but they will need sealing and can be slippery. I laid this tile w/some Talavera tile accents on my back patio. If you don't get the pre-sealed tiles, they won't be as slippery, and these are pretty flat. They looked like this when I got them The sealer really darkens them. You can get these in diff tones and seal w/a non enhancing matte sealer. here's an arabesque shape that are matte and have a little texture to them. paired w/the square tiles on the staircase. it's fine to mix and match. if your budget is a little more flexible, try the actual Terra Cotta tiles. Zia Tile (Cle tiles too) has these 6" star and cross. I love these. prob won't be cheap to install mexican terra cotta (same as the square ones) Fireclay Tile also carries these The mixed colors are also nice. the soft sand color w/the rust accents would look nice w/your walls and chair colors. larger rustic colored hex terra cotta. Do you have any tile places near you that sell spanish style or terra cotta tiles? you have to see them in person to choose This has some really nice pics of diff styles. https://centsationalstyle.com/2018/05/terra-cotta-floors/ or, you know what else you could do, is a old world black/white checkerboard w/porcelain instead of marble https://www.chrislovesjulia.com/all-the-details-about-the-stone-checkerboard-floors-in-the-dining-room-theyre-finished/...See MoreHelp light silver sage RH dining room help
Comments (5)Light Silver Sage belongs to the Blue-Green hue family. Technically a complementary color would be a color directly across from BG (blue-Green) on the color wheel. In Light Silver Sage's case that's the 'warm' side of the Red hue family. For example. want something more saturated and brighte. Everything I look at is to blue or green. Depends on what you mean by more saturated and brighter - because that statement kind of contradicts "too blue or green". Let me explain why I'm asking. Saturated usually means more Chroma, colorfulness. So more saturated is saying you want something bolder, more colorful and not as neutral as Light Silver Sage. Brighter or brightness is technically about lightness. So if you want something brighter than Light Silver Sage, it's going to have a higher Value and look lighter....See MoreGcubed
